Major Spoilers- Is Blind Betrayal Necessary to Romance Danse?
So, I'm starting my second playthrough because I had messed up the story line too much. And I was wondering if on this new playthrough, I could just like NOT give Ingram the network scanner, or if that disrupts the main story line. I'm going to side with the Brotherhood, Railroad, and Minutemen so I don't know if I need to give the Brotherhood the scanner in order to progress.

Love having Danse as a romanced companion, that perk is a real, well... perk. Unfortunately, it's hard to have him as an active companion when the Brotherhood is hostile. Is there a way to skip over Blind Betrayal but still romance Danse and be able to progress into the Brotherhood storyline? If anyone is interested, here is the way I am going to side with said factions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUFEeYdQnVc

Thank you!

You have to give the network scanner to ingram if you want to procced with the bos questline. You have to complete blind betrayal if you want to romance danse. You can still get the "good ending" if you get the scanner back and give it to sturges and side with the minutemen just make sure to not bring danse near the BoS.

That's disappointing. I understand, but disappointing nonetheless. Thank you!

If you do the storyline with minuteman you can completely cancel out the BOS missions on the air ship, and still have dance for a companion

Yeah but the romance would not be possible if you just skip the BoS missions.

Well I have never fully sided with any faction, but as far as I am aware, I need to be on good terms with the Brotherhood, Railroad, and Minutemen while still completing most of their quests in order to only have to destroy the Institute. Also, don't I need to follow the BOS storyline in general in order to max out affinity in Danse?

You don't have to complete the Railroad or BoS quests to get that ending just side with the Minutemen. To be able to max out danse's affinity you have to complete blind betrayal :(

So the Railroad and BOS will still live if you side with the Minutemen? Coulda sworn I had read that the BOS somehow gets destroyed if you side with the Minutemen. I'll probably end up siding with all of them because there is some issue where people from the other factions won't talk to you unless you have sided with them. I saw this firsthand on my first playthrough, which is why I actually wanted to restart- I thought I had followed the Brotherhood pefectly, but everyone in the BOS refused to speak to me.

The Minutemen do have a mission to destroy the BoS but only if you're hostile to them. The Railroad are fine with the Minutemen.

So as long as I stay on good terms with the Brotherhood and Railroad, I can side with the Minutemen and only have to destroy thee Institute? That's perfect!! Generally the same thing I was trying to do originally but that seems a lot easier in general than a full guide.

Someone get me Danse's reset code. Just get him reprogrammed to love you at the Institute.. =D

Yeah the BoS and Railroad missions are all optional you still might want to complete some of them if you want more content but the only thing that matters for the good ending is just to side with the Minutemen and stay and good terms with the other factions.

Okay, that's what I'll do then. Hopefully I don't manage to break something again and leave the BOS staring at me, refusing to acknowledge my presence.

I had the issue too of BOS not talking to me during minuteman storyline, but once you complete the final mission its back to normal, can trade and talk to them for missions.

If you're on the computer you can use this console command found by "Magic Gonads"

set Danse_AffinityCondition_PlayerCompletedQuest to 1

That will let you romance Danse without completing blind betrayal confirmed
