Bought used off amazon, product key used as well
So i bought fallout 4 used off of amazon, and the product key was already used, so I got a duplicate product key message. This creates a problem, because I cant play the game. is there any way of getting a new product key without buying it again. The game was labeled as like new and factory sealed, but aside from the amazon box, no plastic indicating it was factory sealed. If anyone knows a way through steam or Amazon or anything, please help, anything is better than nothing, thanks

That's a tough one as I'm pretty sure that you have to have steam to play Fallout 4
so once you activate it with an account on steam it's linked to just that account.
A sad message to anyone else out there I don't think there is a way to buy and use
A used pc version.

I don't think there is anyway of doing it for free - your only option is to get a refund from Amazon on the grounds that it was used and unplayable because of it. Like the guy above said - a F4 product key is linked to the account its been used on permanently

Guess they want to stop the selling of used games now days :(
Never buy a game that needs steam second hand :/

BBUUTT --- Have you contacted amazon? if they sold the game as "new" then you might be able to work out something with them - like getting a new copy. The fault is on their end if they sold it as new and its not

I saw a seller on amazon selling used copies tied to a steam account, Which is a direct tos violation. Basically they are selling steam accounts.

i think they should remove the sellers account and maybe the OP als for buyn a copy that was to an account already...
im guessing that you di not pay full price for the game as you went looking for it cheaper other then reparable seller :P

You need to get your money back. It was an obvious con.

Lol contact the person you bought it from and demand a refund immediately. If they won't give you a refund, contact Amazon directly and explain the issue to an ACTUAL person either over the phone or through chat. Many times they will just refund you and deal with the guy themselves, they are pretty good about making people happy. This is NOT Bethesda's problem, it is only yours, unfortunately.

Do NOT buy PC games used online, ever. I wouldn't even buy used console games at Gamestop anymore, personally. I've had ones end up being scratched to hell... Gamestop was good about fixing it but it still sucks making the trip back to the store just to save a few bucks in the beginning.

USED PRODUCT KEY.
Didn't it give off any flags, considering it was used?

what did you expect ?
it's used , that means it's tied to an account
learn from it and don't make the same mistake again

exactly its not like in the old days where you just just need the key for the retail disk, keys are now digitally tied to your account so never buy games used

I had this happen with my copy of Dead Island, I contacted both steam and Amazon about what had happened, Amazon gave me a full refund, and steam asked for a scan of my game book where the product key was located, they also asked me to hand write a given ID number in the same area, in the end my game was activated. And i basically got it for free, so I loaded up on the dlc stuff.
