Well, you can sell them for 1 cap each, but other than that, nothing that I've found. You can't even scrap 'em.

Maybe in a DLC?

LOL!! nice.

I've wondered about the tokens as well. By accident/exploring I found the use for overdue books & have wondered ever since that, if tokens had a use as well

I have not confirmed this, but I believe if you program a sentry bot to subway enforcement (forget the exact term) then you will need a subway token to not have them attack you.

that would make sense.

They keep you from being attacked by protectrons who are programmed to be traffic cops. The ones in subways ask for them by default. If you and your companions have tokens, it's like having the robot(s) on your side.

...or in other words, exactly what jason said.

Confirmed, subway stewards require the player to have a subway token in their inventory or they'll turn hostile.

Yes, the very first protectron you met in the subway would have removed one from your inventory--or any that you programmed with the steward AI.

For fun, wear a hard hat and program one up as a construction protectron.

Probably they have no use, but I always carry one for luck. That and in case I run up against a protectron in the MTA like the ones in FO3 who'd off you if you didn't have a Metro ticket.

Is there anyone that was so ill suited to gaming that was actually defeated by a basic protectron? Those things would succumb to even modest slang, prior to even making it to harsh language.
Wonko486 Jan 16, 2016 @ 2:04pm
I dunno, I had a cop protectron take out half the gang at monsigneur plaza before he fell. They can be tough little robots. No real threat to the player, granted, but a threat to other NPC's when so inclined.

In short they are worth 1 cap or to appease a subway robot. Basically they are worthless since I just hack them and make them my robotic ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Bwahhh! :-)
They are like prewar money, except they go in Misc. No special powers.
[the sentry bots guard the one who invokes them, don't need tokens.]
