Spectacle Island power always red.
Tried silly amounts of power and the build menu still says it's not enough.
Whole island is linked by pylons to the boat genny & many windmills have double what i need as a baseline & tried adding 10 medium gennys but it still stays red.
Anyone know a solution?

Are any of your generators needing repairs?
I had this happen once, but only due to quite a few of them being damaged.

not unless it's the boat genny, i even tried scrapping all the things that need power or giving everything it's own new genny it still stays red

I had this happen... Spent a good hour building more generators/buildings/space/finishing touches.. turned out I had missed one tiny stretch of cable that must have unconnected itself when I recycled/stored something.... Might be worth a quick check before spending too much time finding a fix like I did :P

I stored and re-connected every device/cable/pylon just now & all the turrets & jukeboxes power up fine, yet it still stays red.
I think i'll just ignore it and not visit very often

The boat furnishes all the power you need for the work bench area.flip the switch in the boat.

It's red because there is a problem. If it's not a generator, then it's something that isn't getting power. That's why it is red, the game is letting you know there is a problem.

This happened to me yesterday. My stuff is not easy to get to and the settlement was very small. It took me a fair bit of time to track down the problem and find that one turret that wasn't getting the juice it needed.

flipped boat circuit breaker on/off & have double the power i need with everything linked with new connectors, all lights illuminated.
But i know what you mean, something thinks it has no power.
Maybe i've played this game enough, ocd is starting to set in.
Thanks for the suggestions but it's time to say never mind, i'll do something else.

major updates and years later this island is still bugged to hell.
I'm getting power, beds and defences constantly reporting wrong numbers upon arrival and then after running around the island it just fixes/updates everything on its own and sometimes I just need to reconnect some wire to a turret or water pump.. it's so glitched!

You accidentally scrapped one of the trees that had wires leading from the workshop to the boat.
WARNING to TREES with ELECTRIC WIRES!🪓🪚

It always felt like Spectacle Island was semi-divided into two halves (where power is concerned) and trying to bridge the gap with the boat generator doesn't work correctly, I think the best way to keep your power in the green is to have generators on the dock side powering that half of the island, like a substation.

everything is connected fine and beds don't need power.
"exploring" the island fixes the issue most of the times though.
don't think it's the mods either because I only have a handful of mostly cosmetic ones.

I had his problem, only after loading a save with all the "electric" trees intact I avoided the red color.
Yes that part of the circuit is like a substation that must not be touched. Those trees act as real conductors, they can be used as power poles.
Removing those trees affects those scripts responsible for the ultrasound against the mirelurks, it seems they remain "activated" in the save causing the red color, even if the electrical system is fine.
If they were deleted by mistake you can try to create a series of similar connections, this might solve the problem.

red also means something that requires power is not wired up

I'm hoping this isn't off topic, but is the player sent to Spectacle Island or can you just swim there and start doing stuff on it?

One of two ways:

You get a mission from the Railroad to open a safehouse for the Synths

You wander over to it and start investigating the area

Either works fine.
