Brotherhood or Railroad
I'm at the point in my second playthrough where I need to decide who I'm going to side with.
My first playthrough I sided with The Institute and now I'm ready to side with either the Railroad or The Brotherhood (I am aware the ending doesn't really change, just the final missions)

I like what the Railroad "Stands For" but not so much their lack of results or their "Perks" for being with them (Armored clothes are nice though)

The Brotherhood seems a little too Murder happy this time around but they have the Vertibirds and having allies with Power armor is pretty awesome.

The big hold up is the companions it seems all but Danse are sided against the Brotherhood which really sucks as my favorite companion is Nick and Piper to people I assume will hate me for destroying the railroad and helping the Brotherhood if I side with them.

Edit: This thread is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I'm sorry

brotherhood bc you get a jetpack but really I just like the brotherhood bc I like their (well, Elder Maxsons) harsh proticals with dealing with the people of the Commonwelth.

You can craft jetpack yourself and the one you get from brotherhood only fits into the inferior T-60 power armor.

I say neither, side with the minutemen, but if you had to choose between those two railroad for two reasons: One is that they are morally the better choice, as you said they "stand for" good things. The second reason is that the railroad eventually steals a vertibird from the brotherhood when trying to defeat them (after the institute of course) and you can call it with smoke grenades like the brotherhood .

Also in my opinoin if your Piper or Nick especially don't like something, you shouldn't either. But just to let you know I think nick and piper eventually warm up to the bro-hood if you work with them long enough. Cait did at least I bet they will too.

I like the minutemen because they are what's best for the commonwealth. The railroad doesn't care about the people of the commonwealth, or at least they don't try to unite the commonwealth the way the minutemen do. You can complete the main quests using the minutemen if you want to. I can't confirm, but I heared that the railroad get annoyed with you working with the minutemen after a while and you have to make a choice between them. My source may have been referring to the fact that if you side with the minutemen without getting accepted into the railroad first they tend to lose trust in you.

Ideologically, I like the MM the most. Unfortunately, they have the worst quests gameplay-wise (I think Bethesda really dropped the ball on them), which means I go with the BoS.

Yeah they kinda did. I guess they figured the settlment quests and the castle were good enough. Despite their repetitiveness I enjoy those.

The only companions that really care about who you side with are Deacon and Danse. Some of them have opinions about the factions, and might take some affinity hits if you bring them along with you for the quests, maybe even have a few choice words of dialog about it, but in the end they don't really care and will continue to follow you as normal.

I would suggest BoS only because the RR has some shared content with your first playthrough. BoS is more unique I guess. I don't really like either faction, or MM for that matter, I'm going BoS for my second game just for something different. I find myself stalling the story a lot though, just not too interested in moving forward there.

Of the 2 I would choose BOS, cause of what they use to access the institute (if you played fallout 3 ending you will know what I am I talking about)

If you want to know my opinion, here are all main factions allignament (in my opinion of course.)

++ = Very Good + = Good - = Evil -- = Very Evil

++The Minutemen - They help all people in the Commonwhealth.
+The Railroad - They help synths that arent loyal to the Institute, but doesnt seems to take that much care for other people, and are neutral to them.
- The Institute - They kidnap people and replace them with synths loyal to them, but only to do thier experiments.
-- The Brotherood of Steel - They not only kill non-humans (Mostly synths), but also steal technology.

railroad are the worst fanatics ...

steal technology (or free a slave, however you see it), erase his mind and give him new memorys, so it doesn't even know what it really is/was.

freeing a slave, who can't remind he was one... think about it.

BOS for an old favourite.

They dont force them to memory erase.
Also you called Synths slaves (which is true). I dont know whats bad for freeing a slave.

This is the original BoS, not the good one like in Fallout 3 (and Tactics, and possibly Fallout 2 and Fallout 1.)

I am getting goodies from both, but when all is said and done, I will probably align with the minutemen, they align with my character the best.

sheesh, I can respond here, but not a simular thread, what's up with that?

I like the Minutemen best, solely because I get to see the settlements (that I build from ground up) all over the wasteland. Sure, the Minutemen quests are kind of lacking, but nothing compared to the Railroad, I dislike everything about them.

Edit: Between BoS and Railroad, no competition, BoS all the way.
