crippled npc, how to heal them?
during the quest 'the secret of the cabot house' Jack got into the 'crippled' state. So when I move from room to room he just teleports in, sitting on the floor like that and cant move. There is no option to administer a stimpack unto him like there is with companions, so I tried reverse pickpocketing him to give him stickpacks, but he does not utilize them.

I think this might be blocking progress of the quest since I have run into a locked door in the basement which I assume Jack is supposed to open, but he cant in that state.

Any ideas on how to heal him (Im not averse to using the console commands)? It all seems silly to me that npcs that are otherwise immortal can be crippled into quest breaking uselessness just the same as if they were dead.

waiting around wasnt working, hense the post. Ive now tried the recycleactor suggestion but that had no effect at all.

so I gave up and just shot him in the head a few times, and then he decides to magically get up on his 'crippled' legs and start shooting me. Then he goes and opens the door for me and the quest seems to continue. So yah...

I came to this page because I had a crippled Provisioner that was limping along very slowly and I wanted to heal him. The console command "restorehealth" or "resethealth" doen't do anything so what I did was strip him of all his possessions and in console do "resurrect" (make sure he is targeted). He reset to full health plus acquired random starting settler gear. He was still my Provisioner so I equipped him with the weapon and armor that I originally gave to him and let him go on his way.

Create text file in game dirrectory and name it "bFixCripple"
then copy this into text file:

setav perceptioncondition 0
setav endurancecondition 0
setav leftattackcondition 0
setav rightattackcondition 0
setav leftmobilitycondition 0
setav rightmobilitycondition 0
setav perceptioncondition 100
setav endurancecondition 100
setav leftattackcondition 100
setav rightattackcondition 100
setav leftmobilitycondition 100
setav rightmobilitycondition 100

after that, ingame, open console, select npc and type "bat bFixCripple"
works in Fallout 4 and should work in NV and on any npc, even companion.

Only way is either a mod or use the console.

Companions have the keyword "playerCanStimpak" this allows us to heal them so possibly using the console command to add that keyword to them would allow them to be healed from then until they reset removing the keyword.

Mod-wise I use something call Amazing Followers Tweaks.

It fixes a variety of bugs from Followers and I always use it, never had your problem. I do know that it has options to allow other companions to heal other companions (it also gives you the ability to have up to 5 followers at the same time) and has a ton of other options for your followers. No power armor damage taken. You can make your companion sync up with you and when you exit your power armor, so do they. Just an impressive mod.
