Glowing Sea feels... empty....
I have Fallout 4 on Playstation, and figured I'd share my ideas here. By far, my favorite area in the Commonwealth is the Glowing Sea. Its such a hauntingly beautiful locale. When I looked off in the distance from the Freeway and saw the jagged crater off in the distance surrounded by desolate building remains and broken trees, lakes of Radioactive waste dotting the surface, I instantly feel in love with the area. Thats why I was rather diaspointed when I got to exploring it. Sure, the Sentinel site is pretty cool, to just see a giant stone pyramid come out of the green fog. And yeah, the Skylanes wreckage was pretty cool to find. And the underground bunker in the abandoned shack was... pretty cool.
Look, I know an Atomic Bomb went off and the entire area was practically burried in debris, but they could have added a couple more locations. The buried Super Duper mart was the perfect place to put a bunch of weapons, food, and supplies. And to think: Just walking around the inside, rotten bodies everywhere. Maybe a hole in the ceiling with a bus hanging off the edge.
I just feel like theres more to be desired than a couple of small areas and little cave systems that lead to a toolbox. A Vault would be a PERFECT example here! Maybe add one in the side of the cliff before the forgotten Church, with the door blown off like in Vault 15. Then its just INFESTED with ghouls and such.
I just felt like there was more to be desired from this location. Such a promising and interesting place to put lore and such, Pre-War families living live until the moment the bomb went off.
I am happy with how it turned out, and it was pretty awesome to explore, just felt it was a little empty....

There's at least 7 locations in the glowing sea I've found, so plenty to explore.

There are multiple locations in the Glowing Sea, sure, but most of them seem pretty small, like the random caves or the federal govt's favorite shack.

The Sentinel site might be the biggest one, and it's not terribly large.

(Granted, I didn't bother exploring the Church of Nope; it didn't seem particularly in-character to jump into a location with no obvious way out, despite metagaming awareness that Bethesda would not not have made it jumping down through the roof a guaranteed one-way game-ending trip.)

An underground tunnel system -- Boston's transit system would have extended there, right? Plus, sewer system -- would have been reasonable. Some of it caved in, some of it too toxic to wander in w/o a hazmat suit, some of it ghoul-infested. It wouldn't have simply been simply vaporized, however.
Exactly what I was thinking! Think of the undergound areas. They weren't directly exposed to the blast, so its not like they wouldn't be there.

Shouldn't the glowing sea be empty? Its not like it was ground zero or something. I am more suprised that there even is things left. However. Having a vault in ground zero does not make sense. When you built bunkers in the cold war you had to keep it a secret. If it came out exactly where a bunker was then the bunker was useless. No bunker can ever survive a direct hit from a bomb like that. They are built to simply shelter you from the attack that happen nearby, If its a head on hit then you are F*cked.
I'm almost positive they weren't trying to hit ANYTHING in particular. Just saying. And the closest Vault to where I proposed would be one is Vault 95. But considering the ground you'd need to cover in a "Panic" situation, it would be a perfect area to build one. Plus, consider the amount of neighborhoods were standing before the explosion.

Pics, or we'll assume you're a pirate, in which case you'll be treated quite differently.
Or if you're a console user, that's one thing, but there's still a lack of proof.

Good points.

I wonder why Steam allows pirates (or those who bought the game elsewhere) to open posts about games they don't own here.

I find it pretty disturbing for real customers, imo...
Sorry for the misconseption. I actually have the PS4 edition of the game, but was hesitant to state that in chance that the whole comment section would be FLOODED with comments of how "PC master race" and such.... And besides? Whats the difference? Same game, just different Hardware. And Steam is a place I know has a bunch of Fallout fans, so I posted it here.
Made the adjustment so its clarified at the beginning.

To the ones arguing over radiation after 200 years radiation would be low, though still around most cannot penerate the skin.

Difference story if you swallow some of it like dirt on your fingers etc., then it cannot escape your body.

Long life(half life) radiation is not the issue.(weaker takes more time to break down and weaker to penerate the body) Short lived half life radiation like lead 210, plutonium etc that take seconds to breakdown are but after 200 years these will not be around in that form of half life.

(NOTE: Using mini nukes, would again give hot spots where they are used in the game so you rad counter should start climbing.)

Gasses like radeon will still be dangerous(breathing those in will kill).

So are hot spots where nuke hit may still read a high dose but over time, you can be spend more time within that area, than after after actual event happening. (longer if geared up in haz. suit)

This is the case with present day nuke sites you can walk up to ground zero. Factual/true

Radiation is base on half lives knowing which is which is the key.

Also uranium in its neutral form is mined today, we call it lead and radiation cannot in any form passed through it.

Ever go camping and use a tilly lamp, the mantle glows bright white, well it also made from a half life of uranium. Put a g/counter to it and it will move the needle.

Hey, no prob man, earlier I wasn't targetting you for pics or proof, i was questioning the others posting here about it, who honestly cares, these are forums for discussing a game it is not our place to question your validity of ownership and not a place to be judgemental.

Now that's out of the way, at least you got it on PS4 and you're not one of those XBONE douches. :steamfacepalm: :steamhappy:

Thanks. Some users can be kind of rough on console users, so I was hesitant to post here. But glad I did. Got some pretty good ideas and feedback!

They dropped a bomb on it. What did you expect to be left?

I do agree with OP seeing a decimated vault would have been cool. Something like "well ♥♥♥♥ maybe they aren't so great at stopping DIRECT impacts" ya know.
vault 87 took a direct nuke and apart from a busted door and plot rads it was fine

Minus the whole FEV experiments. But it would still be cool to see one out there!

I had exactly the same feeling as OP, I thought wow this looks so well done and nice, all the mud flow look and destruction, the world in that area is so well done.

[ SPOILERS AHEAD]

But there is virtually nothing there, The Mart had 2 small areas with one Death Claw and 4 Ghouls, The red rocket Half Buried " one room ", the cave, one Rad Skorpion and nothing else, the Crater 4 People, 4 shacks, The Church 8 Ghouls, The other Building 6 Ghouls, and around 6 rooms, and a hand full of Rad Skorpions, insects and Ghouls and Death Claws scattered around the sea.

It needed lots and lots of Ghouls because its radio active, it needed, some large special area, it needed a Special Power Suit or Part for one, it just lacked.

I have to think this about the whole game, its like some people that worked on the World done this amazing job making it look great, with lots of places, then another team just stuck a bunch of Missions through it with out breaking a sweat or putting much thought into it.

They never specifically said anything related to them being unable to post here or not, it was an elaboration on my previous post, but taken a little too far.
I do believe that they own it on the console, and they're more than welcome to post here if they want to, regardless of owning it on the PC or not.

I bought it on PS4 because i know Beth's track record when it comes to Beth games and bugs, would you like me to take a picture of my PS4 and game, with a timestamp, FFS.

the pipboy edition has nothing to do with if its on steam or not all pc version use steam.

but if someone with a console version wants to post here and can deal with the idiotic pc mastarace people i dont see why not.

also just in genral stoping people who dont own the game from posting on the forum is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid idea some people like to ask about a game before they buy it or they might make a topic to see if they can run it or if it has any issues.
