Multiple romantic partners?

So, Piper is my girlfriend, but I'm flirting with Cait. Will going all the way with Cait make me break up with Piper or will she still be nice and cozy when I meet her again? Also, is there any risk of losing a companion's perk once you got it (by doing things they dislike?)

I scored the Synth girl, then I sent her to a settlement I don't visit ever... and now I am trying to romance another character...

I guessed that was the optimal way to do it.

Perks stay with you forever, I've read, np for that... i just don't want any dramas...

You can get perk without flirting them, but if you want to know what it like to fliriting them in once play game, then it's better had them not in same settlement, I put piper in sanctuary, I put cait in hangman, so go on, so I often sleep and get 15% xp bouns, here and there if they are near bed, that is, you could put curie futher in south of settlement or where you too busy doing quest then come back too many to that settlement for repair, mod weapon, or store stuff with all that trade rounte, shop, ect... Note> I use command them to assien "player's bed" and not other settle can use it, key is just sleep before they do, if they already on bed, try talk to them, and they get up then use that bed at same time know that they are near by to get 15% xp.

I've see players get Piper to hate them so much she leaves, but not sure if that was after they maxed affinity.

You can romance all companions at the same time, and nothing happens. Some romanced companions may dislike it when you use the "Romance" dialogue option on another while they are around, but nothing else will happen.

be awesome if romancing another character after having already done one made the first one hunt you down and try to murder you in a jealous rage.
