Rather than going through that a second time, I decided to give myself max Strong Back. That not only permits fast-travel while over-encumbered, it negates any effects of weight on your movement. I'm still trying to learn how to move without knocking things over and zipping across the room when trying to take a single step.
I'm carrying about 20k pounds of gear. There are no problems with the game handling it. I can repair and modify things as I like, pick up more gear, sell the stuff I don't need, etc.
Pro tip - Don't spend all of your perk points as soon as you get them. Save them up and use them when you run into a problem. Need more charisma to pass a dialogue check? No problem. Need to fast-travel to continue on with the game, no problem. Doing this gives you enormous power to solve your own problems.
If you are investing in settlements then there are better ways to get caps with minimum input.
the OP just worded things a bit confusing. either use tgm to get back to base or invest in strong back.
player.modav carryweight
I know that is hard to understand, but it is possible to dislike parts of the game like the mindless grinding for materials.
Your "advice" amounts to little more than "just stop playing entirely if there is any part you don't like".
If you actually do want to give advice you should be telling people to use something like "player.modav carryweight 500" to fix the annoying parts of the game without ruining everything
But still, if you want to give a good tip that's basically what fast travelling does: enter COC 'placename" in the console, for instance you want to fast travel to Sanctuary it'd be "coc sanctuaryext"... and yes, this will work even in interior cells.
If you don't know the cellname typing help "locations name" 4 cell
And bob's yer uncle...
