cleaning up Covenent
want to clean up for my settlement. From reading this forum, I understand that to remove the dead bodies, I should use Console, select the body, type disable, then markrfordelete, then exit console. Go to next body and repeat.

I also want to clean up destroyed turrents, and replace with new (powerful) turrents on the platforms on the walls. I tried "markfordelete" and it seems to have removed "Some" of the dead turrents, NOT all though??? And I can't seem to mount a new turrent on the platform.

Another potential issue is the bunk beds, I do NOT want to remove them, need the beds, but can my settlers use them??

So some steps first :

When you kill the original covenant settlers, don't kill them on spot.
Try to make them follow out of town (out of the settlement building limits to be more accurate). I did that, the bodies don't dissapear but I hid them behind some bushes and they never moved from there.
= No dead bodies.

Turrets : 2 possibilites, either you select them one by one and use disable then markfordelete command. Or just destroy them and build your own turrets, In my case I don't remember having remains of the destroyed turrets.

For the beds and any items/containers, select them on the console command and type : "setownership", so the owned/steal will dissapear and the items will belong to you. Settlers will also be able to sleep there.
The beds are also special, in the sense that you can build them yourself, they're unique. You can only move them ONCE. So be very careful, in order to do that, select the bed in build menu and keep pressing E. You'll be now able to move it, however careful once you place it, you can move it again.

My advice ? Avoid Covenant and the quest for now until they update and fix this settlement, most bugged thing in all the game in my opinion.
It's kinda annoying, since it's the most cosy and a real nice place with unique items/furniture.

think disable is enough never used the markfordelete ^^, i shotted turrets, then disabled and placed mine, not a single problem at all ^^.

Regarding beds (bunk means bunker hill?) those are for caravan npcs, i disabled them and replaced with my beds, so they raised the bed count and same npc use them ^^.
If you was refering to Covenant beds just use: setownership comand after to had select them and problem solved ^^.

For doors beside of the first 2 of first house at left wich are nice to be closed i remove dthe third door there and all other doors and placed a white fence gate ^^ fit perfectly ^^, rusty but at least npcs now can use beds in night (btw would not be an issue if they don't use them, is sufficent is to have them ^^).

disable makes the selected item invisible, but it's still there (enable command). So it'll take some ressources, not much, but why load something you won't see or touch? Better get rid of it.

But I don't know much about the markfordelete, people say it's good, others say it can cause issues.

Uhm if it is invisble why i could build on it? Btw i don't think should be an issue ^^ but could depend on pc specs too ^^.

1) too late, already dead. I did drag the bodies across the street, and wasn't that a PITA with the &*#&*&# door keep closing as I;m trying to drag a body out

2) Most turrents destroyed, leave behind burning junk, can't place new turrent on top

3) Ok, setownership sounds cool. DOn't want to move the beds at all, but can only move once? That is just weird!

4) ALready have most other settlements well developed, and at the rate Bethesda is patching FO4, it will be a LONG wait til Covenent is fixed

Thnx to all!:steamhappy:

A bit of a necropost here, but Covenant is still... Covenant. It SEEMS like it would make a cool settlement, but it's just a pain to have to work around what's already there. Looking through Nexus for fixes turns up very little, and so far none of them work. I'm tempted to teach myself enough modding to change things myself, but I'm not likely to actually get around to it.

I've used Covenant Enhancements by Zorkaz for quite a while.

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/45163

Mainly the water area and the height are so much nicer, plus you don't have to fiddle with a lot of little corners in the way of nice straight walls.

it's a pity they never fixed that messy trash, but now with mods you can basically recreate a better Covenant
