Fallout 4

Fallout 4

Voir les stats:
Why is everything so old fashioned?
Everything looks like it's made in the 80s- 90s. Televisions, computers, advertisements, even Cola machines.

Who on earth would watch tv in barely any colours and pixels, when they can watch it in Ultra Full HD 3D?

Because the game setting is in an alternate universe where USA stayed in the atomic era looking like the 50's~70's. It's been like that since the firsts one.

Even though by 2077 it should have changed by then....

your basing your assumptions on our own world, the only thing on peoples minds in the fallout universe was the war, resources supplies dwindling, things that make life in our world easier, where never invented in the fallout universe, in a time line ruled by war different things take priority.

Except the entertainment and music. Entertainment and music always changes with the times. It's art. Art does not stagnate. It forever evolves. It's a game though, so it's not ruled by logic I guess o.o

Like, they've got synths, robots, artificial intelligence and yet the TVs and such just didn't improve at all.... The PCs didn't evolve with the advancements in storage and processing chips that they would have needed to make said robots and artificial intelligence. Stop defending the dumb retro atmosphere that makes no sense. They've got things like vertibirds, automatic doors.... And yet still use record players... The technology contradicts itself. It feels like a joke of a universe or black satire.

Only dumb things is your trying to make something that is original to another post-apocalyptic game
Fallout always was best post-apocalyptic and classic RPG since it doesnt only have good post-apocalyptic world
Black Isle wasnt that lazy to give just future what we want or our world to make it easier
They create whole new world with 50 era things that looks like
They made old world lives with people

Them being in a perpetual state of war should have meant solid and faster technological advancements for everything. Their TVs, gadgets and everything should have surpassed what we have here in the real world in 2016. Considering they were in 2077 when the bombs fell....

Also Fallout 4 does not any longer feel like a classic RPG. It's too simple and streamlined now.

A whole new world in 2077 with 50's era TVs, record players, tapes, PCs, but everything else is like from the future to us. The old tech contradicts the new tech in Fallout. It's like a mad non logical mix.

They have a hovering robot with artificial intelligence on one hand that would require the kind of processing power that we don't have in 2016 in the real world and then on the other hand a PC that wouldn't even have a Duo Core CPU...... An AI robot that requires a substantial amount of storage for it's memory bank and PCs that look like the max amount of storage they have is 10MB....

Google "Anachcronism", but it's just a stylistic choice.

"Retro-future"
Fallout always was and be a Retro-future of 50 era
And also war do faster technology reasearch
Power armors,lasers,FEV,plasma,nukes,robots,fusion cores
It didnt went to the normal people
Also this 50 era is unique
Like Mad-Max that was always about car but you want to remove it

I also think, partly the blame is because they made the first Fallout game in the 90's. And it just stuck. No matter if it made sense or not.

Mad Max is accurate technology wise. As in for that time the technology adds up and makes sense. It was 90's technology.

P.S

And it plays better then Avalanche's Just Cause 3....

You dont get it
Removing 50 era style from Fallout its like removing cars and Australia from Mad Max
Also Mad Max dont have prewar lore like Fallout
Mad Max history with our went to a oil conflict without any alternative ways
When Fallout lore is completly diffrent from end of WW2

They are two different games. I don't even know why you're comparing the two.

Fallout's technology does not makes sense nor add up. It's a mix of future and archaic. How are vertibirds, plasma, Lasers, artificial intelligence, hovering robots, automatic sliding blast doors, fusion cores etc 50's era technology? It's not. But the TVs, PCs, Records players, tapes are. The game contradicts itself. They even have terraforming technology.

Like, I'm just pointing these things out here. In the end I still like the game and can live with it because it's fun. But I'm not going to justify the insaneness of it all.

You're trying to say it makes sense, as if it were actually possible and logical when it's not.

It's a mixture of archaic, future and the impossible.
You are either trolling, or very literal-minded. I hope for your sake, it's the first.

Literal minded. I like the game. Not going to make excuses for the insane world it is. but I guess that's the point. I also don't see how being on topic could in any respect be considered 'trolling'.

At least I don't go around insulting people by implying they are trolling when entirely on topic and actually got a foundation for their opinions.

And you think how people in 50 era think how future would like?
Atomic cars, white and black television, lasers, Nuclear War as something that will come (even after 50 era there was still big boom on Nuclear war like Terminator,Mad Max)
We laugh how they think the future would like you say that dont make sense
And how people 50 years after will think that they future would like?
They will say like you that dont make sense

The game was made in the 90's. Not the 50's. I guess they just wanted to make a funky insane world full of violence and depravity and yet wondrous inventions at the same time. I also doubt people in the 50's thought of things like Vertibirds, Plasma and fusion. In the 90's however they did....
