Why is everything so old fashioned?
Everything looks like it's made in the 80s- 90s. Televisions, computers, advertisements, even Cola machines.

Who on earth would watch tv in barely any colours and pixels, when they can watch it in Ultra Full HD 3D?

Because the game setting is in an alternate universe where USA stayed in the atomic era looking like the 50's~70's. It's been like that since the firsts one.

The world is based behind the idea that it didn't go any further than the 1950s, it makes you feel like its another world. Even if it was 2077 they improved on other stuff like the power armor and laser guns, theres even a rocketship they were gonna launch until the nuke dropped.

It is not based on our world, think as if it was a multiverse like a "what if" senario, the commenwealth is based on Boston so you could compare it there.

'Scuse me old pap, 'twas a rough bet. Judging by the style of music and how everyone dressed, it ain't far off.

Here's a handy Timeline from the Wiki that works as a great primer for players who missed out on the first 2 games:

LMAO,

This has to be a troll

They think the music and the clothing shown in the pre-war post war setting is from the 80's -90's....

Man, I hope this kid is home sick from school and not at college age or above. That's freaking sad to think that someone 18+ has such a lack of basic knowledge of our current time-line.

Clearly... unless we somehow degress in technology. Which should never happen.

I wouldn't mind if they would change some of the era feel, I too am bored with the 50's look when it's hundreds of years later in the future it makes no sense for fasion to never change in the game.

I'd personally like a more modern looking world it doesn't have to be super futuristic looking. I mean no one in their house has a big screen tv all is tubes even computers are still the old box look no way they would have made serious technology improvements.
