Companion Perks - Permanent?
In FONV, you could get a Perk from your companion, but ONLY while they were with you as a companion. It looks like in FO4, once you get the Perks, they are Permanent. At least some of them Cait for instance

Are all the Companion perks permanent?

Yes, they're all permanant and they stack with each other.

Surprising. I guess FO4 has weaker Companion perks than FONV. Encourages using all the companions to get the extra free perks

The companion perks are handy, but hardly amazing. Nick Valentine gives you an extra hacking attempt, but it doesn't stack with the science bobblehead bonus. It doesn't particularly incentivise specific companions, so you can just travel with who you want to rather than needing to travel with someone. I think the exception might be McCready (if I'm spelling that right) since apparently his perk is super broken.

They were kind of situational, since they were tied to the companion.

FONV:

+20% healing, all consumables, from Arcade
See enemies on compass at super range, from ED-E
Weapons degrade 50% slower , from Raul
Workbench on demand - Veronica could be a workbench where ever
Enemies highlighted - Boone - Replaced by PowerArmor helmet mod
Stealth boys last twice as long, +10% damage from sneak attacks, from Lilly, although Decon's perk grants 20% damage boost and stealthboys increased by 40%
Immunity to alcohol negative effects/addiction, from Cass

I think they changed it because if you wanted to, you could park a companion somewhere and go off on your own and retain their perk.

hehehe...and popping up Curie now and then, once she's max affectionated toward ya is generally good for a freebee stimpak. Just say "thanks babe" and toss her back in the closet like ithe ingrate you truely are once she's given yu your daily fix...

Yeah it's supposed to be 20% extra headshot accuracy, but it's perfect headshot accuracy at any range.
