I've lost my mag's/comics and my BobbleHeads by storing the containers
I stored my magazine racks, with the comics and such displayed, into the settlement inventory and now my collection is gone. SAme with the bob's. I'm still credited the containers in the build menu but the other items that were stored inside the containers, are gone! Anyone know how to get that stuff back?

They should be in the workshop inventory - at least thats how it worked for me.

I suggest going back to a save before you stored the mag rack and the bobblehead display!!!

Items that are in/on a display will Not remain on the display when you store it. You lose anything on them.

The only other thing you can do is to get the Id's for the bobbleheads and use the console to place them in your inventory. To do that for the mags you will have to know exactly which issue number you had of each type of mag.

They have 0 weight
Just keep them in your inventory

From what I have seen elsewhere the items aren't gone, they just aren't displaying properly. Whenever my magazines vanish from the magazine racks I enter the transfer menu and close back out of it, causing them to reload.

Returning a container to your workshop should deposit all of its contents into the workshop inventory, as Trooper-N1004307 said, so check there.

Thanks for the replies you guys. They're all gone ( I guess I'll just have to play through again. That really kinda sucks though. I had a feeling I should have pulled everything to my inventory before saving the shelves.

You can just use the console to spawn them in if you really need to have them on display. There's probably a list of their item ids in the guides section.

Actually I found them in the workbench inventory!!! Yay. I must have been rather sleepy last night lol.
I was looking forward to setting up a home base somewhere, mainly for the xp it would add and just to really tinker with the build system. I just wanted to move from the Castle to somewhere else.

Glad to hear it all worked out for you.
