You can try running the game in borderless windowed mode.

Try after click play in the launcher, immediately moving your mouse to an empty area on the desktop and hold the left mouse button down.

I have seen this a few times on other forums:

ok, so i tried all possible options found in the video and the comments and it didnt work....if you find yourself in a similar situation heres a fix that might work {worked for me}

FIX:
Go to fallout 4 directory, then go into data folder then into the video folder.....there are several files that have RU somewhere in the name......wherever you see RU change it to EN
REASON:
The game is trying to load English files but is only finding Russian files, hence the black screen

i gave a Nvidia Geforce GTX 645 but why would that change anything as i have already got the gasme to run with 60fps?

but still need help

Im thinking a resolution issue. Try this and make sure to right click and set read only.

Set a custom resolution like this:

In the fallout4 ini file (my documents fallout 4) set this for windowed:

bTopMostWindow=1
bMaximizeWindow=1
bBorderless=1
bFull Screen=0
iSize H=XXXX <-enter res height
iSize W=YYYY <- enter res width

Or set this for fullscreen: (if fullscreen works for you)

bTopMostWindow=0
bMaximizeWindow=0
bBorderless=0
bFull Screen=1
iSize H=XXXX <-enter res height
iSize W=YYYY <-enter res width

Make sure to set XXXX and YYYY to your screen size.

When finished save and set the ini's to read only (will need to be unticked if you need to edit them again)

Alternatively you can use this awsome mod (great for other hidden settings)
