No Mods for Automatic Laser Musket - Bug or Feature?
Disclaimer: I knew that I couldn't mod the Auto-Musket before I went out looking for one, this is just a general question.
Is the inability to mod the Auto-Musket a bug or a feature? Will it be patched in the future or is this what it's going to be like forever?

From what I recall, I could mod the scope, barrel, and stock. haven't used it for awhile but I had it set as a 6 crank shot.

You need to have certain levels in the Science perk for different mods at the Weapons Bench. When in the crafting menu, it should show you whats available, and what perks and materials are needed for each mod.

It isnt a bug. It's a feature.Wouldnt you think it would be too op to mow down groups of enemies with a overpowered minigun laser musket?

Don't be so angry :) Anyway, there are other weapons that are incredibly overpowered when modded, and there is no real good reason why you shouldn't be able to mod the automatic one in my opinion. Maybe wait for a mod or ask the developers over Twitter. They sometimes answer ;)
Have you not used the Auto L-M?

It's Overpowered.I walked into a room and mowed down everyone in the room in 2 clips. If it was moddable then people would just put Scatter on it and have a ACTUAL minigun laser shotgun.

Plus it's suppose to be a joke towards old Fashion miniguns(before IRL Miniguns) where you had to keep cranking to fire.

What?No you cant.

The Auto L-M itself is a Minuteman Ending Quest Reward what is the point of it being a Ending reward if you can find it normaly?

Because Uniques/Questrewards are only Set Weapons with a Unique Name and a set Prefix and you can find every Prefix Ingame i think .
I found one to some time ago Scattered Automatic Laser Muskete

Did it fire like a Old Crank Minigun? If so i stand corrected.

I found that as long as it's in my inventory, ALL of my Laser Muskets are unable to be modded, so now I'm pretty convinced it's a bug.

I did manage to mod it at one point by dropping two Laser Muskets (Including the Automatic one) and picking them up again, non-auto one first and auto second.

It started off with a scatter mod but I couldn't change the muzzle as the option simply wasn't there, and the crank type was replaced with the "Automatic" mod and couldn't be changed, either.

Everything else could be changed, but if I changed it to a non-bracketed barrel (The generic Laser Musket barrel) then the muzzle would be removed and would be unable to be retrieved.

The Automatic legendary musket isn't quest-specific, you can find as many of them as you want. I'm making it a personal mission to find as many as I can on my Minuteman character.

You find it off of a legendary enemy. Just picked it up now. Also, I believe you're looking for the term 'Gatling gun.' 'Old Crank Minigun' is making me die inside

It's not a feature, it's a bug. Because If I have a regular laser musket in my inventory, I can't mod that either if the automatic one is in my inv

Brilliant! This was the fix for my issue. One person had said that you had to acquire and then fire a different laser musket first, but that one didn't work for me. This did.
For anyone not understanding: Once I completed the Minuteman ending "The Nuclear Option" and then I talked to Sturgis (Just on a whim, actually) and he gave me the musket. It was immediately after that where no laser muskets would show up in the list when I went to a weapons bench.
Doing the drop and pick up thing seemed to fix that code.

Again, thanks man! That was a helluva find there :)
