how do i transfer ownership?

i stole power armor from the atom cats, but even though its at my base and i did it halfway through the main quest, it still shows up as "stealing". how do i fix this and make it just mine?

console, click on the power armor, setownership
alternatively, grab the armor pieces and put them on a different power frame

Just wondering, is there really an issue of the PA being stolen??? I mean i still use only one PA and have gathered like 60 so far many of them stolen, but what side effects do they have??? is it the settlement???

Some companions frown upon you if you steal/use stolen stuff... As far as I know that's it. Settlers will only get miffed if it's owned by anyone in the village, which I think is highly unlikely in the case of PA.

Other than ol' Dogemeat being a dog, working with lone wanderer, and that fact that he just doesn't care one iota about you being good/bad... But yea, he gets my vote for best companion, and only companion :D

I mean the power frame, if i put other pieces on it, it just says its still stealing

Go into console and click on the object that is "stolen" and type "setownership"

make sure the power armor isn't docked so you don't click on something else, it should look like (letterandnumber)[PP] and the command is setownership(letterandnumber)[PP]

Perhaps you take only the parts and attach to another frame.

If you don't mind modding, you can use Worsin's Immersive Power Armor Garage. Scrap the stolen frame and build your own Advanced Power Armor Frame with it. :)

So, SS goes in, kills everyone, and it's still stealing to grab a desk fan? What's up with that? Do these BOS/RailRoad etc have will and leave their trash to heirs? Even Goodneighbor, you take the job to kill the three mobs, and you can loot their bodies but not their junk, cuz stealing. Why is that?
