Protection from Rad Storms
So is there any way to protect yourself from the ratiation storms while in a player-built house, specificaly in Sanctuary? It's a minor problem with the amount of radaway I have, but I still want to know if there's a way. I know if you actually go inside a building (with a loading screen) you get protected, but I really want to be able to be protected in the house I built so I'm not getting irradiated while modding my guns and stuff.

sleep, use the wait function or get in power armor

If you wear your vault suit, you'll get a trivial amount of rads from it.
You could build a little shack above the cellar, it's in it's own zone.

So there's no way to build a house that just protects you from it? That sucks. I got rid of my vault suit earlier, and I don't like using my power armor unless I absolutely have to, so I guess I'll either have to waste time waiting for it to be over or just use my radaway. Oh well.

Also, slightly off-topic... I keep coming home to find my nicknacks that I've so carefully placed around my shack clipping down through the tables and stuff, and I'm tired of fixing it. Any idea how to fix that?

Just cook some food that heals rads or pop some rad resist when the storm starts if you are worried about it.. or since you are crafting at your settlement build a chem stall and ask the assigned settler to heal your rad sickness for 40 caps..

Otherwise to answer your question properly, mod your armour to improve rad resistance or pick up one rank in ghoulish and not only will you not take damage, you will actually be healed by those rad storms.. and all other forms of radation... why haven't I picked this up yet myself?! lol

Edit: Nicknacks scattering has been around even in skyrim.. you can't do it.. lol I don't know if you notice but sometimes when you fast travel a random car will fallout of the sky or down a hill, I've seen it a few times. However, there is a mod that will let you glue things in place, however once you stick them they won't move.. not even for a grenade.

There is also the Hazmat Suit. It's a full suit, you can go swimming in a glowing pool if you wanted too. I forgot what the name of the building was where I found mine. It was near the Fort the minutemen capture, it was a 3 or 4 story tall warehouse with those red sensors everywhere. The place is crawling with ghouls, literally everywhere. But there are a few guys inside going Full Breaking Bad on the top floor inside. 3 or 4 of them, they are wearing the hazmat suit.

i take it as you guys don't play the survival difficulty much if you don't use you rad exploit with the bed your settlers are almost screwed and if your there the whole time there's a chance the rad storm can actually kill settlers depending on what there wearing meaning if you don't plan lugging those extra hazmats you might run into some issue it's gets even worse with the frost mod witch makes it so rads storm happen frequently with a constant rad dmg if you don't have resistance meaning unlike in most case's in vinallia you get rad dmg regardless each storm

I take it you don't look at the date of the thread before posting. This is over a year old, they've most likely moved on and found their own ways to do these things by now. Settlers cannot die by rad storms either, unless you have mods that make them.
