Happiness issue at Greentop Nursery
Good evening,

I have an issue with this particular settlement, where the happiness just keep falling, not matter what I do, while I can maintain an healthy 80 elsewhere...

Some beds remain red in build mode, I tried to manually affect settlers to them, but some turn red again...

Is this a bug? ^^'

Beds to not need to be assigned, settlers will assign themselves when they need to sleep. You only need to make sure beds >= the number of settlers, even if in reality they will not use all (since some will always be on guard duty)...

Well, defenses are beyond food + water (and there's more food and water than settlers), enough beds, paintings and all, just like any other settlement I have... That's why I posted :/

I've also read Nukapedia before posting, nothing interesting regarding my issue

if they are red and you cannot use them you could always try selecting in cosole mode and typing in "setownership". that should make the beds owned by you and thus usable. I had that problem in Covenant and did that with the large beds, but also had to "Disable" the bunk beds and replace them...

I have the same issue at Greygarden, happiness won't go above 55 when almost all my others are 80 and above.

some advice...always delete any preexisting beds when you get a settlement, they are quite finicky.

It's going up and down now, between 58 and beyond 70... >.>

Well, thank you, I'll try that command :) Perhaps that'll help them to get some sleep

I've added beds, it has now reached 80 (that's the maximum I currently have for most of my settlements). Now it's The Slog which have the same issue while it was fine before: beds which were there before can't be stored and people got unassigned from them, and can't be assigned to them. Spawned more beds :/

Thank you!

I am currently level 75 on my second attempt of a play-through. I think I played this around 6 years ago and gave up due to issues like this. Hopefully this helps.

Abernathy Farm (beds):
-to fix happiness issue
-3 original beds need to be deleted, due to coded for being outside
-bed ID numbers
0006b9f3.disable hit enter key, then 0006b9f3.markfordelete
0006b9af.disable hit enter key, then 0006b9af.markfordelete
00190ca4.disable hit enter key, then 00190ca4.markfordelete
ff00792b.disable hit enter key, then ff00792b.markfordelete
ff0071f1.disable hit enter key, then ff0071f1.markfordelete
0006b9b0.disable hit enter key, then 0006b9b0.markfordelete
ff006c35.disable, then ff006c35.markfordelete

The Slog (beds):
00193dc9.disable , then 00193dc9.markfordelete
000f976b.disable , then 000f976b.markfordelete
000f976c.disable , then 000f976c.markfordelete
000193db6.disable , then 000193db6.markfordelete
000193dc7.disable , then 000193dc7.markfordelete
000f9758.disable , then 000f9758.markfordelete
000f975a.disable , then 000f975a.markfordelete
000f9757.disable , then 000f9757.markfordelete

Tenpines Bluff (beds):
00193ef5.disable , then 00193ef5.markfordelete
00155290.disable , then 00155290.markfordelete
0018ed19.disable , then 0018ed19.markfordelete

Finch Farm (razorgrain):
000ea17c.disable , then 000ea17c.markfordelete
000ea190.disable , then 000ea190.markfordelete

Greentop Nursery (beds):
0015a007.disable , then 0015a007.markfordelete
0015a008.disable , then 0015a008.markfordelete
**must assiagn all to beds; failed a quest: help with raiders/similar, which may be why

-hit ~ (tilde) to open console, left-click around the item until you figure out (confirm) which item it is, then type the console commands. There can be parentheses "(" and ")" and extra letters, but ignore that. I use the first set of 8 characters (usually numbers and letters) for the code for console commands, which seems to fix the happiness issue for each settlement.

<item_id_number>.disable -- removes from game
<item_id_number>.markfordelete -- ?? not sure what this does

tried a few times with no luck:
8f101.disable -- unknown variable '8f101' for parameter integer
0008f101.disable -- i think item was not the desired item to remove (ie bed)
"(0008f101).disable -- could not parse this line

then:
0006b9f3.disable -- worked, removed bed successfully

so in console, left-mouse click the item you suspect is causing the issue. type the item id number, a period/dot, disable, hit enter key. then, type the same idem id number, a period/dot, markfordelete, hit enter key. remember to build a new bed if a settler needs the one you removed.

do this for each item id number. do this for any bed causing happiness issues in settlements. other items like razorgrain at finch farm have repair issues, so i suggest disable & markfordelete those as well. good luck.
