I've also read Nukapedia before posting, nothing interesting regarding my issue
some advice...always delete any preexisting beds when you get a settlement, they are quite finicky.
Well, thank you, I'll try that command :) Perhaps that'll help them to get some sleep
Thank you!

-hit ~ (tilde) to open console, left-click around the item until you figure out (confirm) which item it is, then type the console commands. There can be parentheses "(" and ")" and extra letters, but ignore that. I use the first set of 8 characters (usually numbers and letters) for the code for console commands, which seems to fix the happiness issue for each settlement.
<item_id_number>.disable -- removes from game
<item_id_number>.markfordelete -- ?? not sure what this does
tried a few times with no luck:
8f101.disable -- unknown variable '8f101' for parameter integer
0008f101.disable -- i think item was not the desired item to remove (ie bed)
"(0008f101).disable -- could not parse this line
then:
0006b9f3.disable -- worked, removed bed successfully
so in console, left-mouse click the item you suspect is causing the issue. type the item id number, a period/dot, disable, hit enter key. then, type the same idem id number, a period/dot, markfordelete, hit enter key. remember to build a new bed if a settler needs the one you removed.
do this for each item id number. do this for any bed causing happiness issues in settlements. other items like razorgrain at finch farm have repair issues, so i suggest disable & markfordelete those as well. good luck.
