Anyone else get 'turn around talk' ?
When I do conversation with other characters, & it goes into the mini cut scenes, my character starts turning away from whoever I'm speaking to, & faces completely away from them! I kinda take it as more Bethesda bug type crap & laugh mostly, but recently had a chat with 'Father', which was potentially the most moving part of the story so far, but ruined by this stupid turning away!

This is part of the feature set you get with Bethesdsa games.

You should be thankful.

WHat annoys me is having an important talk either about a quest, or companion affinity, and some idiot NPC walks up and starts telling me their completely boring and irrelevant life story....LOUDER than my companion is talking.

Companion: "Well, one day the minutemen were..."
NPC: "HEY DIDJA HEAR ABOUT THAT FARM OUT EAST THAT'S RUN BY GHOULS? I HEARD THAT BLAH BLAH BLAH....."

Good strategy Uzi, see it as a special feature! Maybe all that radiation has deformed manners as well as bodies. :)
Yeah S.T. I get that a lot too. Hell, I've also had NPC's physically move me when I'm talking to someone! If I knew how to make mods, I'd make one that allows you to punch out badly behaving NPC's, without everyone turning hostile. I just did a quest where I have to talk the Minutemen out of attacking a place. After several conversation options, & wearing all Charisma + clothes with a hi basic Charisma too, I eventually have to order them to stand down. Their spokesman tells me, the General of the Minutemen, 'I don't have to take orders from you'. Well, if ever there was a case for punching him out, that was it! Some NPC's just get too big for their boots! :)

haha I have had npcs start a conversation then decide they want to go do their idle animation daily routines and start walking away talking and doing circles as they are trying to talk and go to do their daily activities. I haven't seen myself bug out yet tho

AFAIK this only happens if you initiate a dialogue in 3rd person, and moving the mouse while the dialogue choice "cross" is not active.

Solution: only play the game in 1st person

I know this post is a month old, but I'd like to confirm this is correct.

One of my Provisioner's pack Brahmin had me trapped inside a building until I raged and tried to gib him so I could get by :) The whole settlement gang-banged me for shooting at it lol.

VPanther, I'm afraid I have to disagree as I play in 1st person & only tried 3rd person specifically to try & stop the turn around thing. The whole deal is that it goes into mini cut scenes during dialogue, so 1st or 3rd person makes no difference & the frustration is that this is entirely in the control of the devs!
dogg, excellent Brahmin bug! One of the things that bugs me about all Fallouts, is how everyone knows what you've done regardless of time or situation! I've just tried to sneakily infiltrate Covenant, after they'd turned hostile. 3 nights I went in stealthy (inc Stealth Boys) yet they were all up & alerted & could apparently easily see me. Had to resort to Pax & Mind Cloud syringes. My best Brahmin bug so far, was when attacking a Gunners base, I saw a derilict building (only 2 of 4 walls type) that looked good for sniping & cover. Got to the 3rd floor & the last bit of stairs & there's a Brahmin! I went round it, but couldn't go up the last stairs due to a plank overhead! Tried to go back, but the Brahmin had moved to block me in! Could I shift it? No, so I had to blow it away with my shotty to get out! Only in Fallout eh? :)

Having played around with it a bit, it seems the bug is linked to mouse movement. The player's view isn't locked in dialogue so you can just walk away, but that means when you move the mouse to choose a dialogue option, it rotates your character. I found this while using TFC to get some screenshots also.

Can confirm first person fixes it *sometimes* but not moving the mouse and using keys to select dialogue seems to always avoid it.

Got this a lot more in their other games. Still get someone walking in between blocking my view though quite often.

You mean this bug https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzAOkHHOsTc ?

They already aware of it (it is on the confirmed bugs list).

It happens if you move your mouse after you click a dialogue option. Simply don't use the mouse when talking until they fix it.
F4TES Mar 5, 2016 @ 4:53am
Thanx for that tip & the vid to confirm the bug/glitch. In future I will avoid the mouse, but I'm guessing it won't cure the other NPC's barging you out the way, or Brahmin wanderin thru! In a way tho, it wouldn't be Fallout without these hilarious glitches eh?

I have a really bad bug right now where my character keeps snap/teleport turning away in random directions during dialogue.
Chupacabra Nov 27, 2017 @ 6:04am
My english is bad, but posibly i found a fix:)

In Fallout4Prefs.ini I found this line-

[General]
bGamepadEnable=1

I change it to 0

Now Im playing for over an hour, on purpose talking to everyone, brutaly moving my mouse, changing from 1st person to 3rd person, it looks bug is complitely gonne:D

Could someone test it and confirm if it worked for u?:)
