Robotics Expert Perk, worth it?
Anyone got any real use out of this Perk? I'm just at the point in the story where I've become 'Institutionalised' so I'm gonna be dealing with more robots maybe & I can get this to rank 3 if I want. Just not sure if it's worth the points. Also, I'm not sure if you have to sneak up on Robots & I've no idea if if it works on Synths?

its a mediocre perk, you can only hack non-hostile or deactivated bots which limits your options. robots do not always fast travel, even if you shut the robot down he can still fast travel with you but not always.

Be carefull with the self destruct option, it can lead to diasabled terminals via a bug thats caused by radiation damage. (basically dont use self destruct)

Feck me! I thought all the gossip in DC was just paranoia, but there's more Synths about than I gave credit for! Also, I'm not anti-Synth, I'm considering asking 'Father' for one of them there Gorillies as a companion! :)

How can they be human? They're made with cloned DNA for the flesh. The mind is purely machine, they can be reset like computers, memory whipe/edit with a computer and codes. They are programmed. It's seen both in Railroad quests and Institute's.

It's just that their programming is more complex than Gen-1 & 2. They are made to look and sound similar to humans. Doesn't mean they are.

It's even Liam, in the Institute that reprograms them to want to escape and help them to do so too.

Mods fix everything. Robotics Perk is very useful with the Settlement Robots Mod, which allows you to craft Robots to work for, and even defend settlements. Just another reason Bethesda just kind of dropped the ball with Settlements, such an obvious idea but wasn't in the game. Just imagine a Mr Handy that helps farm for example, or a Sentry Security Robot (which is of course insanely expensive to build.)

People are just machines too. I can erase your memory if neeeded, you were created and you could be reprogramed. Heck, you already have been programmed, just much more subtly. The only real difference is that synths are made in a day and come preprogrammed whereas humans are created in ~9 months and take years to program.

Danse is the perfect symbol for synths been just as human as humans [/spoilers]

Good idea Kameraden. Will have to look into that mod. I'm bored with the settlements & the pathetic settlers, maybe that mod could put some sense into settlements. Bethesda well & truly dropped the ball on this whole game imo, not just the settlements addition. The entire game is SO buggy! I continually have trouble navigating the Institute, coz my HUD indicator doesn't show most of the time. Can't use the PipBoy map, markers off map, can't drag the map far enuff. Currently stuck trying to find the damn Agitator in the Mass Fusion building, coz once again the map indicators not working! I wonder whether Bethesda are actually proud of their dreadfull bugs reputation & actually build the buggers in! :)

The only robots you hack are the pre-war kind. Synth have AI so it's impossible to hack.
