What level to go to Goodneighbor at?

Around what level should I try to go to Goodneighbor at? I know it's location and all but when is a good time to go there?

you should go when you have the mission to go there, but do every mission you have on the way there.

i got there at level 48

yes, it is a main mission to go there

any as there is a good weapon shop for ammo just avoid the quest the big dig untill lev 28 so you can get the X-01 power armor. if you dont care about that then go for it

Too bad I'm a melee class and don't need any ammo, at all. Let alone power armor.

But if who I think is there which I've only seen images of then I want to say a Redcoat Ghoul which I wouldn't mind getting my hands on. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The vendors sell decent stuff, you get extra content at the memory den if you go there before being directed to, and some people really like that MacCready guy.

I heard MacCready is a dirtbag. I'm thinking around level 25 should be a good time to go.

well for this game there are issues with not planning somethings. If he does that one goodneighbor mission too early he will miss out on a X-01 suit.

Or for something else, if you take certain stealth perks in the wrong order it actually makes you do less damage/

So you get a suit elsewhere. Doesn't matter. And perk choice matters less. Just play.

...because MacCready's perk is bugged to the point of incredibly overpowered and it lets you faceroll by headshotting anything at any range with 95% probability, basically.

i go early typically around level 10-15, if you head out from DC you can grab a load of landmarks aong the route, since you are playing a melee build hubris comics is worth a visit(a quest in goodneighbour sends you there) and its on the way to goodneighbour.
its on the freedom trail route which is worth doing, its possible to make it to goodneighbour only fighting some ghouls and radroches alonng the way if you sneak without a companion
goodneighbour is also a quest hub, there +6 quests that can be picked up there and some of them are good

Too bad the game is made wrong and if I go there early basically the entire area will always be level 10 enemies when I go back around level 25+ for the Mass Fusion Building and such.
