Can't complete "Here, Kitty, Kitty"

I "completed" the quest "Here, Kitty, Kitty", and Erin even thanked me for finding Ashes. The quest still shows as incomplete in my question data base, and is still showing quest markers when tagged in the data base. When I talk to Erin again, she just tells me "I wish my mom and dad wouldn't fight so much". If I try to click on Ashes, he mews at me. I read a few discussions about it, and they all said that with "Here, Kitty, Kitty" incomplete, they couldn't activate "Hole in the Wall". I was able to activate and complete the "Hole in the Wall" quest.

Is there a way to fix this so that the quest will show as properly complete in my data base?

Do I need to leave the vault? Doesn't seemed to have fixed

Not sure . Did you talk to the teacher and tell the kids a story ? Don't know if it matters .
