Piper Version:
Go to her home and wait on the couch till she starts wandering around. Wait until she stands near the newsstand near the door, she will do the throwing away animation for her cigarette and it will no longer appear. It might take you a while just don't interrupt her animation. hope this helps.

But i have try the same way to curie but it not working... i'm not sure if it work for another people but try this:

Curie Fix:
Go to the Old North Church where you met the first Time Deacon and
People of the Railroad, and let Curie smoke her cigarette, she will do the
throwing away animation and voila no Cigarette more. It worked for me
maybe it can help another player with the same Problem.

^ This works for Curie. I would assume for Piper too. It's silly, but it's like she just gotta finish her smoke in the basement of a church.

Thank you very much. Curie was driving me nuts with her cig and her smoldering arm. Took her into the basement of the old north church. The basement did not do it. Had to take her right into the room where you meet the Railroad people. She walked around a bit smoking etc. Then she walked up on the platform, flicked her wrist again, and then stood standing with her hands behind her back. No more cig when she moved again. Hopefully it wont come back.

Yeah, you HAVE to take her to the END, where you MEET DESDIMONA. Takes about a minute, then she'll get on the platform and finish her last cigarette.
I don't think I've ever seen Piper smoking. Weird ...

I just found a seat, sat down, waited for an hour, and viola, cig was gone.

It was in the basement, though, I'm not sure if this works outside of it.

Anyone had this bug with Cait? :D She started to smoke non stop, it's her idle animation now. Any way to fix this?

i fixed it ! any companion you have that has the smoke glitch, you can go to piper's home and wait for them to go the spot where piper smokes, that way they can stand there and when you get up from sitting in the couch they throw the cigarette away. hope it helps :)

idk i had the game since hour 1 and havent seen them start bk up
