It maybe, if you all have the same sound systems, it could be a driver issue. I would try downloading Driver Booster Pro and see if there's any drivers available for your system but don't update your graphics drivers this way, do that manual with DDU to uninstall.
What I am thinking is that it's your chipset drivers. A lot of popping and cracking can be caused by any number of things but it can be a timing issue so updating your chipset drivers and sound drivers would be my first guess.
If you have a laptop then take note of manufacturer and model number and again type them into Google for instance: ASUS Craptop mode X-01 chipset drivers.
Also know your OS and make sure you download the ones for your OS. If you are playing Fallout 4 then you will have a x64 OS and it will be either 7, 8,8.1 or 10.

Update your other while you are at it like sound, network. Download gfx from either AMD or Nvidia, don't use the ones on the laptops website.
