Do these count as rooms? I had issues w/ settlers going into them at first, but I'm using short wooden walls to make makeshift doorways that are slightly wider than normal and haven't had any issues ever since.
2 of my settlement's beds are in the infirmary, so the settlers sleep there every night and frequent the shops since there are chairs in the rooms as well.
The worst : Croup Manor the pathing there is beyond horrific its unplayable settlers just stand on edge of the cliff or in water 90% of time dosen't matter how you build it
Very easy to defend.
Friendly "geometry" and good size for construction (not too small, not too big).
Low-level attacks.
Generators and water purifiers can be safely placed within the structures at the back side, very far from the spawn point in the front side.
Pre-existing crops and settlers.
Cricket is often there.
Worst one: I would say Oberland Station:
Very small.
Ugly.
No water.
Nasty geometry.
Enemy spawning can happen inside the settlement.
Attacks are usually hard.
Enemies easily run downhill out of the turrets' fire.
Have to agree with this. The one I like the best is the Slog. Second best would be Nuka World Red Rocket.

and Castle is rather terrible.
Main issue with starlight is the lack of food spots but theres plenty of space on the western side for reasonably food supply. and then we got the whole center for whatever the hell we want so I set up some shops and crafting stations and other things.
Personally, I dislike Bunker Hill, and rarely want to build anything there. It's hemmed in by a bunch of existing structures with only a few small bits and pieces that can be cleared, and unlike Covenant it doesn't look particularly nice on its own. Adding insult to injury, it's inside a nice neat square of dirt that would make a much better settlement boundary if only those unremovable junk walls weren't in the way.

Norhagen I try to do as a farm with a brick sidewalk and beachfront houses. Somerville is probably my least favorite. I tried a few settlement mods (bugged so don't try it) at Ryders Rentals and Evans Way Cul-de-sac. Ryders is the truck yard between the brewery and the open multi-story super-mutant structure. I add warehouses. It's something a bit different from the usual settlement.
I'm trying to build a favela out of adobe and other colorful mods at Coastal Cottage, going up the hill. Something like this -

Lots of steps to see if npcs will use them.
