Didn't notice the cure would increase hp by 60%....i need to do a semi evil run :P
You're right, it's only 10 hp. It's nothing. Save the kid instead and you will get a room, Curie will like you and most importantly, most of the things that are marked as owned, are now marked as yours too seeing as you now "live" there too. Free stuff :D

Once you save the kid, you can pretty much strip the place clean of EVERYTHING
Also make sure to push Curie into the middle of the medical room where Austin is lying before delivering the cure, since she can become bugged if she doesn't join you by being spoken to in there before the quest finishes.
There is no item count check if you select it, and you'll have cured Austin and yourself.
...or just do more work than necessary, that works too.
