Should I use the Vault 81 cure on myself?
It supposedly increases health by 60% but I am unsure. Do I get a good reward from the doctor?

You probably won't be welcome if you let the kid die.

It's only - 10 HP, in the long run it's pennies. I think it's only -10 hp. Save the boy, you get yourself a free bedroom, and everyone at Vault 81 becomes much nicer. Plus Curie likes it, and everyone loves Curie, making Curie unhappy makes people sad.

You're right, it's only 10 hp. It's nothing. Save the kid instead and you will get a room, Curie will like you and most importantly, most of the things that are marked as owned, are now marked as yours too seeing as you now "live" there too. Free stuff :D

^ This right here.

Once you save the kid, you can pretty much strip the place clean of EVERYTHING

For the record, I saved the kid and didn't even realize you got a room. Not like I'd ever use it.

If you ever romance Curie, you know where to bring her back to. ... ... ok, I went there.

Or sidestep the moral dilemma by not getting yourself (or more likely, your companion) infected with molerat disease

It's only 10 hp so it's not a huge loss and the cure can be easily found in the developer room so if your jimmies get rustled by having a permanent negative effect you can always go grab the cure.

If you don't give Austin money for the tour he calls you names anyway. The kid's an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, so ♥♥♥♥ him, keep your 10 hp.

You should get the fix from Nexus and run throught it again.

Kill all the molerats without letting yourself or any ally get injured (don't activate robots, and leave your companion out of it). It's the most challenging option, and has the best result. Explosive weapons are great if you have them, since getting damaged by the area of the blast can scare molerats out individually if you hit the ground where they're hiding.

Also make sure to push Curie into the middle of the medical room where Austin is lying before delivering the cure, since she can become bugged if she doesn't join you by being spoken to in there before the quest finishes.

Right as you're about to "give" them the cure and the dialogue option is available, pan away and go into your inventory, and take the cure for yourself.
There is no item count check if you select it, and you'll have cured Austin and yourself.

...or just do more work than necessary, that works too.

I see it as playing the game more, rather than working more. Who doesn't like shooting molerats in their annoying faces?

Work smarter not harder.
