Mid-game, suddenly the mouse stopped working in pip-boy (solved)

What the header says. I've been playing for a couple weeks, and today I start the game and I can't change my weapon because nothing works in pip-boy. The mouse doesn't work, the tab key doesn't work. I can still open different sections of pip-boy by keying "m" for map or "i" for inventory, but I can't do anything when it opens because it doesn't react to tab or mouse.
The game menu works fine and in the game the mouse works alright. Only the pip-boy seems broken. Thoughts?
Update: solved by removing the chameleon armor piece. The mouse now works in pip-boy.

Have you got anything else plugged in like a controller?

Have you tried resetting controls to defaults?

Is your mouse keyboard wireless?

No controller. Checked the controls, all look fine to me. I'll try to reset, although I haven't done any customizing.

Have you tweaked the INI or any of the configuration files? Do you use any mods?

Solved. Found the keyboard controls to navigate to the armor and removed the chameleon piece. Pip-boy is now working (with the mouse). That chameleon piece is awfully bugged.
