For those with Fallout London crash issues please read
I have personally played over 40 hours without a single crash and only two minor graphical bugs which for a game running on the creation engine is a bloody miracle. However I have seen a lot of people are having crashing issues, now I set up Fallout London on my pc and had no issues however after setting it up for my partner she had two crashes in the first 5 hours of game play.

So I did some trouble shooting and found the issue literally everyone having crashing issues is having and thought I'd share the fix. The issue is with the Vortex mod manager and specifically the plugins, now I had zero issues as I downloaded fallout 4 then patched it with buffout and the longer load times THEN installed Fallout London, but with my other half I installed Fallout 4 then Fallout London before adding buffout and longer load times mods.

Doing it in this order causes Vortex not to recognise parts of the mod and so it disables LondonWorldSpace-DLCBlock.esp and LondonWorldSpace.esm which leads to you either loading into the commonwealth or if you already have an existing Fallout London save crashes when it can't find things it needs.

The fix for this is simple, just go to you Vortex mod manager click your fallout 4 in managed games, then click plugins on the left toolbar and then re-enable the plugins as they will be disabled. If they don't show up there will be a pop up saying plugins filtered just click the button to unfilter the plugins and thus unhide the plugins and re-enable the disabled plugins.

Hopefully this helps at least a few people as this is by far and away the best 3D Fallout Game we have and hands down beats fallout 3, 4 and even New Vegas for me as I prefer the far more dense environment as apposed to the desert and the heavier emphasis on melee combat as well as the fact that even with armour values over 100 in both physical and energy things are still a threat to me.

As a fan of the original Fallout 1 and 2 the 3D Fallout's always lacked a challenge as you were almost instantly OP Fallout 4 especially, I mean come on giving the player a full suit of power armour and a mini gun within the first 10 minutes kinda killed the game for me as did the massive proliferation of power armour. In the original 1 and 2 power armour was expensive and rare in the 3D fallout games it's everywhere, I hope Bethesda see's what Fallout London has done and makes the next Fallout game far far harder and makes things like guns, armour, ammo, power armour and everything in general harder to get.

Anyway that's enough of me ranting and hope you all enjoy the Mod and that it's a wake up call to Bethesda and please Bethesda fix the worthless next gen patch so people don't have to mess around with a downgrader or get it on another platform that hasn't pushed out a near 20 GB update that ruins the only thing the game has going for it at this point which is the mods.

I'm using the GOG version, since it was on sale and it made installing London easier.

My magic trick consisted of three things:

- turn off weapon debris
- turn off cloud saves
- turn off achievements

And, obviously I don't have my Steam version of Fallout 4 installed so there's no conflicts.

I also went into the prefs file in Documents and set ipresentinterval=0, fullscreen=1, borderless=0, shadow resolution=4096, shadowdistance=3000 (this is after already launching the game, setting options to my liking, then quitting to desktop). Then I made a profile in gpu control panel and capped the game to 60fps.

I'm using a gsync compatible display with a resolution of 3440x1440p. To avoid major stretching and HUD issues, I'm running Fallout London at 2560x1440p and using gpu control panel upscale and sharpening to maximize my screen.

My game looks and plays beautifully and I give Fallout London a huge thumbs up! I would even argue that so far it's better than the Fallout 4 base game. The overhaul, the voice acting, the characters, the factions... It's incredible. It's easily a $60 game on it's own.

Back to London now! PEACE!

i feel stupid but i cant find out how to turn off weapon debris. ive opened the original fallout launcher and gone into settings but its not there.
I just use x-cell and buffout with the settings mod for fallout london the only thing I have been having is after a few hours my weapon smoke detaches from my weapon and fixes to the flashlight node it is mildly irritating but restarting fixed that

Buffout period. Other than a crash once every 10 hours or so it isn't that bad a mod. Better than a lot since some other mods the npcs don't even talk or bring up chat menu.

Same boat here, I think the launcher is different on GOG than the Steam version.

I'm usually pretty good with modding games, but trying to get this to even be playable at (literally) any level has been an absolute nightmare and a test of patience. Before the patch I could at least play, even though it had 2-3 minute load screens and would crash after 20 minutes. Now it's straight up unplayable and crashes right after I hit continue or try to load.
It's called NVFLEX in the .ini in Documents.

Open up the fallout4prefs and scroll down until you see NVFLEX, set it to 0. Make sure you disable cloud saves and achievements.

Fallout London doesn't open up the launcher. To open the launcher, you have to start fallout 4.

thanks, that helped, checked the ini file and it was already turned off.

one question, so i installed a fresh GOG fallout 4, installed the first release of FOLON, then buffout. then the update. started a new game. still getting a lot of crashes and they seem to come in waves. i never go more than 20 mins without a crash, but yesterday i was in a loop of open game, walk for 2 mins, crash. i always restart the computer after a crash. open game, walk for a minute, crash. then all of a sudden, it was okay and im back to a crash every 20 mins.

but my question is, should i be reinstalling buffout?
I never installed any buffout. I've seen it mentioned here but I'm not familiar with it. Maybe it's a problem for some users.

As a matter of fact I don't have any mods. I also see I didn't download the high-resolution textures as it felt unnecessary for the amount of space.

Do not install Buffout4 if you downloaded the latest version of FOLON. It is integrated now.

I have a strange issue, the game is otherwise working fine, but whenever I try to enter Thamseheaven it crashes, I have both weapon debris disabled (and the fix mod installed) as well as buffout. The crashing issue was there before installing these mods, as well

The crashlog states ""EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" at 0x7FF6EFEEEC97 Fallout4.exe+02FEC97"

I'm not sure what to do, other than just nuking the whole game from orbit and trying to instal the game again, in case something went wrong

The thing with Vortex shouldn't apply here since I don't have fallout 4 as a managed game in Vortex, so by all sense, it ought to not affect, right?

I don't have much of a clue what the crashlog statement means, other than perhaps some bug or issue where the thamesheaven level is somehow ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and either can't be loaded properly or the game doesn't find it? Though that's just a guess on my part.

Where should I be looking to disable cloud saves and achievements? Are those somewhere in the .ini as well? If so, what are they called?

They are in your STEAM SETTINGS.

Achievements are automatically disabled when you mod the base game, and the only way to re-enable them is to use the appropriate mod that does this.

FOLON is not a steam game. You won't be getting achievements for it anyway, since modding the game disables achievements.

sorry, but I wont play a mod where the creators are too lazy to adapt it to the newest fallout 4 update. I am a modder myself, so I know, it can be much work but you cant let your fans downgrade the game and all DLCs one by one to ensure that they MAY be able to play the game on steam, if they are lucky.

Making FOLON work on version 163 was just a way to sell the game and thus, the mod on GOG. Most people will buy the old version for $16.
