My magic trick consisted of three things:
- turn off weapon debris
- turn off cloud saves
- turn off achievements
And, obviously I don't have my Steam version of Fallout 4 installed so there's no conflicts.
I also went into the prefs file in Documents and set ipresentinterval=0, fullscreen=1, borderless=0, shadow resolution=4096, shadowdistance=3000 (this is after already launching the game, setting options to my liking, then quitting to desktop). Then I made a profile in gpu control panel and capped the game to 60fps.
I'm using a gsync compatible display with a resolution of 3440x1440p. To avoid major stretching and HUD issues, I'm running Fallout London at 2560x1440p and using gpu control panel upscale and sharpening to maximize my screen.
My game looks and plays beautifully and I give Fallout London a huge thumbs up! I would even argue that so far it's better than the Fallout 4 base game. The overhaul, the voice acting, the characters, the factions... It's incredible. It's easily a $60 game on it's own.
Back to London now! PEACE!
thats in the advanced tab in the laucher options though it should be off by default
Same boat here, I think the launcher is different on GOG than the Steam version.
I'm usually pretty good with modding games, but trying to get this to even be playable at (literally) any level has been an absolute nightmare and a test of patience. Before the patch I could at least play, even though it had 2-3 minute load screens and would crash after 20 minutes. Now it's straight up unplayable and crashes right after I hit continue or try to load.
Open up the fallout4prefs and scroll down until you see NVFLEX, set it to 0. Make sure you disable cloud saves and achievements.
Fallout London doesn't open up the launcher. To open the launcher, you have to start fallout 4.
one question, so i installed a fresh GOG fallout 4, installed the first release of FOLON, then buffout. then the update. started a new game. still getting a lot of crashes and they seem to come in waves. i never go more than 20 mins without a crash, but yesterday i was in a loop of open game, walk for 2 mins, crash. i always restart the computer after a crash. open game, walk for a minute, crash. then all of a sudden, it was okay and im back to a crash every 20 mins.
but my question is, should i be reinstalling buffout?
As a matter of fact I don't have any mods. I also see I didn't download the high-resolution textures as it felt unnecessary for the amount of space.
thanks, thought that but wasnt sure.
The crashlog states ""EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" at 0x7FF6EFEEEC97 Fallout4.exe+02FEC97"
I'm not sure what to do, other than just nuking the whole game from orbit and trying to instal the game again, in case something went wrong
The thing with Vortex shouldn't apply here since I don't have fallout 4 as a managed game in Vortex, so by all sense, it ought to not affect, right?
I don't have much of a clue what the crashlog statement means, other than perhaps some bug or issue where the thamesheaven level is somehow ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and either can't be loaded properly or the game doesn't find it? Though that's just a guess on my part.
Where should I be looking to disable cloud saves and achievements? Are those somewhere in the .ini as well? If so, what are they called?
Achievements are automatically disabled when you mod the base game, and the only way to re-enable them is to use the appropriate mod that does this.
FOLON is not a steam game. You won't be getting achievements for it anyway, since modding the game disables achievements.
