First hint .. install Buffout4 or you will have a lot of crashes.
2. Check if all the Fallout London esp are activated.
3. Try not to start the game from the laucher but directly from the f4se_loader.exe in your Fallout 4 installation (not Fallout London installation) and run it as administrator.

Rename or delete your config files and use those that come with Fallout London in the GoG\Fallout London\__Config folder. Mine caused an infinite FOLON intro loop and like with my problem your FOLON start menu does look like the Fallout 4 start menu.

Alright guys, thanks. The problem was both the config files and the esms not being activated. It all works now!

relief!!
I have experienced, but now also read:

"xSE PluginPreloader F4" - which avoids crashes on loading screens, quote: "I had exactly 4 crashes in 14 hours of play." ("The waiting times for loading are terrible though")

and:
"Long Loading Times Fix" - which avoids long loading times

are incompatible. then it doesn't start at all.

I have decided against "xSE PluginPreloader F4"

Don't forget to install Weapon Debris mod if you re having an Nvidia video card.
It's a must

Use the high fps physics fix instead since that fixes also the loading times. And download the correct older version, since you downgraded the game you can't use the current version.

I would have short loading times if i deactivate Vsynch or set it to "fast" but then the games runs too fast.

Or you can just disable weapon debris.

in Linux install I had the same new gane starting normal fallout 4 bathroom mirror view screen as well.
Fix was to copy the contents of supplied __AppData folder in addition to the ini files in __Config. These files shoud be placed in the wine equivalen to the windows AppData folder. This will typically be in the/home/{user}/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/377160/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/ or the same location relative to your steam library

Assuming you are on windows, open explorer and type %localappdata% in the navigation bar at the top, hit enter then navigate to the fallout4 folder. In there you will see plugins.txt and some other files. that file will list the plugins you have that are 'active.'

If that does not list the folon esms, then I would suggest, ***after making backups of the originals, ofc***, you copy all of the files from the \_appdata\ folder in the folon install directory over the files in \appdata\local\fallout4\

This should have happened automatically during the folon install. But if you installed it using a different method (manual, mod manager, etc..), they may not have been copied over.

I installed all recommended mods via Vortex (incl. Buffout4) before ever starting FOLON. My plugins.txt lists both esps from \__appdata\ for FOLON, but also those for the other mods, so I didnt replace it. Should I still try that?

regarding the config files:
Using Fallout4Prefs from \__Config\ in \Fallout4\ of the steam directory didn't work. Did I misunderstand the instruction?

I used the FOLON installer, so I don't know where to get other config files from.

In each case I started f4se_loader as an admin from the steam directory. Still mirror scene after correct Intro.

You have a seperate FOLON folder right? One with all of the FOLON assets whatnot correct? There should be a .bat file in the FOLON folder that will install those assets over to your Fallout 4 folder.

I needed to use the .bat file to apply the FOLON update that came out a few weeks ago, so I know the installer doesn't actually install the files directly to the Fallout 4 folder at least some of the time.

Buffout-4 is not to be user installed anymore they repackaged everything and with custom edits. https://www.mirror.co.uk/gaming/fallout-london-patch-notes-include-33443834
The Fallout: London patch notes also includes a free performance-enhancing utility called Buffout 4 (also includes the xSE PluginPreloader), which the Team FOLON say will solve performance issues and crashes, as it's a mod that fixes engine bugs, and adds a crash logger to the game. If you already have it installed, downloading and installing the Fallout: London patch will simply replace it with no issues; but the devs recommend you remove Buffout 4 from your mod manager if that's how you're implementing it.
Buffout 4 and xSE PluginPreloader are now included with the newest build of Fallout: London: Don't panic, if you already have Buffout and xSE it will simply be replaced by the Fallout: London installer.
We have removed Baka and implemented a fix to use Buffout's memory management uncapping script memory usage (This is built into Buffout 4). Alongside this we have added a flag to re-enable achievements so we can test the achievement send events through GOG (No promise that achievements will work yet but we can get more information on this)
There have been a few tweaks to the included INI files of the installer to improve stability: High settings are now the default and various fixes to some values. If you have custom INI's already, for ultrawide support as an example, be sure to back up your current INI files before

If you see installation advice before 12 august ignore it for Fallout London. That was specifically tailored to 1.0 and your going to have a bad time if you apply that on 1.01

The ClearUp.bat was in my steam directory and running it did it, thank you.

I wasn't aware of the update
