Anyone use console commands to edit the day/night timescale rate?
This is something I didn't even know you could do, until a few days ago. But apparently you can use the console command: "set timescale to (0-20)", and it adjusts the length of days and nights. I found switching this to 8, from the default 16, gives the game a lot more of an immersive feeling. With much longer days and nights. Anyone else mess with this, and find a good setting for your tastes?

Ahhh I see it can mess with the quests in vanilla I imagine. I haven't run into any issues using it with Fallout London so far, but good to know. thanks.

Like i said, u might get away with it :-) if u havent had any issues, that great, lol the rest of us, dont want to risk our saves

Seems these folks have had ok luck with it, as long as you don't set it to something extreme. https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/7qhidq/is_it_safe_to_change_timescale_with_console/

Like i said, most of us, dont touch it, for precisely that reason....

Like worm_master said though you have to be careful with timescale because if you use the wrong numbers or set it wrong it throw a lot of timed stuff off in game.

Horizon mod uses a scale of 8 rather than 16, I found it really nice. I used to be like worm_master and suggest not using it until I found out how much I like the double daylight time.

I want to say you have to do it in certain increments in order to avoid the bad effects. For instance if you go with a low low number it throws off your weather and can cause crashes.

As u said Bored, how-ever I suggest learning how to use it first, b4 u use it

Sure that makes sense. I just set it to 8 and haven't touched it after, so I have a feeling my save will be fine, and if not I can always start over. I've replayed the vanilla game three times already.

Well I also use it because I use Darker NIghts and adjust darkness to be more around 5-6pm as it really is in New England in the fall/winter. So expanding that day time length in play time makes a difference.

Pretty sure one of the game veterans around here uses it as well. I think it was either Xenon the Noble or Danconnors.

No idea about that, I'm just passing on a general warning, and anyway, always best to learn about a command, any command b4 you use it.

Totally get it and appreciate the warning.

There is some excellent background information about timescale on the horizon page
https://fo4horizon.fandom.com/wiki/Timescale

I used it in the past and yeah it can causes crashes or make things to wonky.

Thanks! This is very helpful.

Place Everywhere has F11 that sets it, and then resets time to basically crawl while you're building, so you don't wind up having to build in the dark.

That's about all I ever use it for, myself.
