Long answer, Fallout 4's gameplay is very honest and doesn't feel excessive, if that makes sense. It is a simple loop where you go somewhere, kill baddies, loot, repeat. Unless they intend the game to be about something specific like the story and/or the experience, games are meant to be about escapism and fun, and Fallout 4 does that really well.
The complete antithesis of Fallout 4 would be The Last Of Us. TLOU has the best story I've ever seen, but the gameplay is, in my opinion, actual buttcheeks. Fallout 4's gameplay is fun as heck, but the story is buttcheeks. So, if you don't care about the story, Fallout 4 is actually an amazing game.
Also, my mindset has changed drastically since I was young. I've been playing games for 23 years and my taste fluctuates so much. I used to care so much about games being perfect and being nitpicky about every little issue, but now I just care about hourly fun where I mess around for an hour or two. Fallout 4, and games like it, is perfect for that. In comparison, I haven't played New Vegas seriously since 2015, even though I think it's overall the better game.
Shouldn't you be WORKING and not spending company time on a games forum?
Also, Fallout 4 was good for its time and some like playing older games because, why not. I still have fun playing classic DOOM that came out in the early 90's.
