Thank you. I went to that spot but I did not get any feedback that a door was there. I must have not hit the door right with my mouse. My eyes are not good in the dark and the door was not visible to me.
Steam shows my last play date on Steam Fallout 4 was July 21st. Today is the 25th so no in my opinion.
Something to keep in mind. I am not actually playing Fallout 4. I am playing Fallout London which has its own start button on GOG separate from Fallout 4.
I dropped the game but normally you have to have a Pip Boy to have a flashlight and you do not get that later.
The GOG version of Fallout London prevented you from playing anything else except it. I refunded GOG version of Fallout 4 and quit playing the game. I still have my Steam Fallout 4.
The flashlight or in this game Torch is after the first set of rooms behind the fire at the right side at the door you can not open yet next to a slumped over corpse.
You have to walk towards the elevator to trigger a cutscene which opens the door due to power rerouting from a than still unknown party. This results in a hallway that is pitch black except for the single light source of the Torch. Thus the game than reminds you of the Torch and it should explicitly says so on your screen by way of the quest progression pop-up
You do not get the Torch before or during the ATTA Boy as the ATTA boy in the lore is belt worn, handheld. This is due to Smythe deeming the Pipboy wrist worn nature to be ineffective for her troops. Due to weight on the shooting arm thus decreasing accuracy of there shots. While the torch is supposed to be carried as separate item with a belt hook or harnas hook.
I believe they fail-safe the door not opening by you having the ability to press the elevator button which is also connected to the door opening script. But it should have opened on its own after the unknown party is done rerouting the power if the quest worked as intended.
No, at that point you don´t have the atta-boy. You get it about 2 minutes later. And yes, the area is pretty dark and i also failed for about 5 minutes recognizing that dumb door
I am blind as a bat in the dark. It is an age thing. I suspected there was something there but dark is very dark to me and I figure my mouse did not hit the right spot to clue me in there was a door there.
It is one reason I do not do horror games. I avoid games which are dark.
