Fallout London install guide (from fresh Steam install no console required)
Install Fallout 4 from Steam (remember which folder you choose)
Download and unzip Fallout 4 Downgrader from Nexusmods (Nexusmods acct required):
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/81630?tab=files
^^ ignore where it wants u to download the extra plugins they are included now
Run the FO4Down EXE which automatically patches your fresh game files (no Steam login is required). This finished in less than a second for me which shows that there wasn't a big difference to the files.
Check to make sure your Fallout 4 install works by clicking f4se_loader EXE in the folder (which you remembered from before)
If it works go up a directory or two to steamapps folder and mark appmanifest_377160.acf as Read-only. This prevents updating the install folder.

If your menu doesn't show up once you loaded into Fallout 4 copy this to fallout4custom.ini in Documents/my games/Fallout 4 folder on your PC:

[Display]

iLocation X=0

iLocation Y=0

[General]

SLocalSavePath=Saves\

[Archive]

bInvalidateOlderFiles=1

sResourceDataDirsFinal=

Before all this you can go to GOG Galaxy (make account for free, no ownership of anything is required on GOG) and claim the Fallout London mod. Once claimed there should be an install button at the top of GOG Galaxy once you are in the mod page.
If this install doesn't appear restart GOG Galaxy.

Install the Fallout London mod to a separate folder (not your Fallout 4 install). The mod files download as a loose folder but you do a separate install once they are downloaded (for Steam). Remember where this folder is.

Once the Fallout London install downloads from GOG go to the folder and find Launch Fallout - London shortcut. Once you click on this it will install and copy everything to your Fallout 4 install. After this you can launch the mod from this shortcut also.

You are done enjoy British Fallout.

You know someone is going to complain about having to use their steam details to log in even though its to check you own the game and wont bother to check that you can do the downgrade manually

What does install look like on Linux/SD?

This is not the way the mod team advise to install. The downgrader isn't zipped. A Steam login is required. The downgrading takes a long time. So, not sure what your post means.

Probably because the OP is making things up.

Yeah I used my own method. It worked for me so I’m posting it here. Never needed to input my steam credentials in a random app because the patcher comes with delta files and doesn’t require getting old files from Steam. Download the latest version as usual and proceed from there.

Did u launch from the FO London shortcut? Consider using the install plugins option in the downgrader and then running the FO London install again.

It's not their place to check if I own the game. That's Bethesda's business, not a 3rd party MOD author (and as you can see from the icon next to my name, I DO own the game. I just think that's shady as ♥♥♥♥).
