Ron Staples
So I typed "player.moveto 00192357" and it took me to a spot under a bridge. I have a mod where you can crank up random encounters to 100% so when I appeared at this location, I was instantly attacked by a group of Mechanist robots. Then the Gunners from the camp on top of the bridge overheard us and came to join in. Then two groups (maybe 3?) of supermutants got in on the action. I was blasting away for several minutes before I was able to kill everything. Then the turret from the camp on the bridge started shooting at me! Yeesh!

Other than the ones I killed there were two dead caravan guards and a dead settler. No sign of Ron. I typed the console command again and respawned at the same location. Then I typed 00192357.moveto player. Nothing happened. Is this a glitch?

Ron is a randomly spawning NPC merchant that can be recruited to your settlements...

Since Ron travels, and can be killed by mobs.. AND you have your system cranked up so high, more then likely what has happened is Ron died and De-spawned.

1. You moved to the spot he was first seen by you. It can be any campsite location.

2. You did not enable him, while not in game Ron is disabled.

enable 192357
192357.moveto 14

enable 192357
192357.moveto 14

If Ron has already been killed, will the enable command work? I didn't realize that he wasn't essential.

That command will move the corpse to you IF the target is dead.
If it is dead then use recycleactor on it.

I tried that and then I tried player.moveto 192357.
Then I tried enable 192357.
...and then player.moveto 192357 again. Twice.

I can't reach him.

Do you think he's gone for good?

Prid 192357
enable 192357
192357.moveto 14

If he or a corpse does not appear.
Prid 192357
recycleactor
192357.moveto 14

I started a new game. My mods are too dangerous.

do as peon said... move the npc to you instead of moving you to them.
first, you won't end up in a gunfight risking a mortal npc being caught in a firefight.

second, if the npc is not enabled nothing will happen, enable the npc first, than try again.

you moving to ron instead of moving ron to you could have get you stranded into the encounter holding room... and there are, in fact, NPCs that are neutral towards you but will kill each other on sight if they get the chance.

I giggled at that because it was one way for developers to troll people cheating, lol.

i fond out the hard way once... i mean.. it was recoverable, obviously...

but oh the shame to have to go onto a public board (i actually had to mail the developer) and ask humbly how to get out of the loading screen cell...

it was a remarkable experience... long before steam.. when we still had plenty physical copies of our games.
