Clear underwater View.
For years , I used the mod '' Clear Underwater '' View for years . then late last year the mod broke for some reason ( before the update ) . There were two other 2 mods of the same type but they also refused to work .

Is there any way to tweak the .ini files to get that clear underwater view as there's a fair of loot under the surface , especially off Boston .

Supposedly this, from the mod's comment section, last month.

No need for mods like these. Just open the fallout4prefs.ini and look for bDoDepthOfField=1 then change it to bDoDepthOfField=0

You may have added a different mod that affected the water or textures, lighting, or other features like depth of field or whatever else. You say two other mods of the same type, and... were you attempting to use them at the same time? Only one mod has a patch that works with Clear Underwater View, the Clean Water patch.

Thanks for that . these days i write down stuff in a note pad for future reference .

I was using '' Clear Underwater View '' first ,when realised it wasn't working , I disabled it . went searching on Nexus , found 2 similar mods that didn't also work , they were first disabled and eventually all three were deleted off my mod manager .

The only weather mod i was using at the time was '' Vivid Weathers '' with an optional
holotape to change the weather conditions on the fly . I was using this mod for years as well ..

Can some tell me how to save the edited filed in my FO4 Prefs .ini files ? . this is the first time trying with W11 . With W10 and earlier , You edit what you need to do , then the windows auto saves the edited files before you close down the file . It appears W11 has a different of doing things .

Well first be sure that you are editing the CORRECT ini files, as they appear twice on your computer. I can't remember off the top of my head at 1 am which location is the 'correct' one but presumably it'll be the same directory as your saves? I may be wrong.

I didn't realise there actually 2 sets of files there . the I tried editing was in '' My Games / FO4 /
FO4 Prefs .ini , Found it under the heading '' imageSpace ''. edited the 1 to 0 , but for some
reason I could not save it . Now I'm aware there may be a second file , I try looking for it when I finish supper .

Found the second set of files . In my case via my documents . I was able to edit this file .
the trick is to edit the file , then got to '' file '' ( top left ) ,press '' save '' and done .

W11 is a another headache I'm slowly learning to use .
