I might not’ve been clear enough about what the issue is. The character is trying to walk to a terminal, but because a companion/obstacle (such as chair) is in the way, I’m stuck in place behind that obstacle. The companion also doesn’t move when this happens so I’m just stuck behind them with the walking animation.
And because I’ve already pressed the button to access the terminal, during this walking to terminal animation all the inputs are disabled (except for the ESC key) so I can not access the pip-boy for example to travel elsewhere, cannot talk to my companion to ask them to move away.
that's why I recommended HFPSPF - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/44798
Fixes a problem of stuck NPC and getting stuck when you access to the terminal and power armor.
It won't mess up your achievements.
Have just googled and seems that it might be some fps issue afterall. First time I come across a game where a game-releated bug occurs because of your fps lol.
I was having random issues when running at 120 fps. I now run at a locked 60 and such issues no longer seem to occur.
I used the iPresentInterval=2 to help to do that.
That will certainly cause issues. Not just with terminals, but with dialog sync and lock picking going too fast and several other issues. The game was meant to be played at 60 fps. There are mods however, which can adjust that.
If it does not do so then open the console and click on your companion:
It absolutely will.
