Fallout TV Show VERY good
After finding I could easily cancel after the free trial month I decided to join Amazon Prime.

I had no high expectations. The first episode was fine. It held my interest from start to finish. The style was about right with a mix of humor, drama, and serious violence. Yes, tiny weak spots one could nitpick but it takes a lot to hold my attention. The scenes were mostly fast-moving (one exception dragged a bit.) Video quality is moderate. Yes, it's 4K but not pin-sharp, high-quality 4K. Sound for me like many movies is spoilt because of the extreme dynamic range. Turn up the volume for speech, turn it down for noise (but not as bad as some in that respect.)

I enjoyed it. To anyone who's never played FO4, this series will look quite original and in a very unusual style.

If you're a hardcore FO4 obsessive then maybe don't watch it if you're just trying to match it to some preconceived notion of what you think it should be. For me, I accept it for what it is and I'm starting straight away on Episode 2!

Maximus could possibly still go back??.......Tell that Titus died and he wanted to bring the target plus artifact/relic back himself, lying on the radio and then the branding thing just sort of happend because he wanted to preserve Titus legacy/memory?

Have seen episode 1-6!

And an OK Tv-Show!

Regards
Peter

As a longtime fan of the Fallout series of games, I am pleasantly shocked by the world authenticity and story so far in the first two episodes I have seen, and in fact it exceeded the games in their sense of gritty and raw details. So far the only thing I have kind of wished they did a little better was making the ghoul Cooper Howard look just a little more...ghoulish. The eyes are too white and clean, and the skin a little too consistently colored, too made up. But I am assuming that was a choice to make him a little more human and relatable for the audience. And the feel of the characters growth as they progress is so in line with the games. I found myself feeling like I was watching someone play the game a little.

I have friends who say the same thing, the problem with the ghouls is you get too detailed and it becomes hard to manage in makeup. CGI is well, we been down that road and it has not panned out very well.

You could also figure part of it is from the drugs he constantly takes. If you think about it, Cooper Howard (The Ghoul) is basically another Eddie Winter. The other ghouls who ran out of the drugs looked more like the ghouls we know.

Just finished the series. Very good, exceeds expectations in so many areas, incredibly detailed, as if the devs themselves made the show. Overall story was very good, lots of surprises. Definitely not perfect, it needed way more action IMO, for example, and should have included energy weapons, and more about the wasteland lore. That aside, it's probably one of the most faithful, well-executed, highly professional, extremely well-crafted video-game adaptions ever made to-date, IMO.

Video game adaptions always tend to leave tons out, or unfaithful to the source material. Whereas the Fallout show, utterly saturates the audience faithfulness to the source material and more. It definitely needs a Season 2, and given how extremely well they put it all together, the same team should also do a Skyrim series or movie as well.

Hmmmm, I knew F:NV and the Shady Sands being nuked in 2277 were close. I did not realize the fall of Shady Sands took place before F:NV which kinda changes the whole NCR dynamic in F:NV.

When the ghoul asks the girl her name, makes him repeat MacLean (Hank MacLean caused the atomic explosion at Shady Sands).
2277 all the F3 DLCs are activated and at the same FNV and all its DLCs. Caesar arrives at Fortification Hill. All this to underline that while Bethesda was working on Fallout 3 Obsidian at the same time they were finishing Fallout Nev Vegas, so much so that it came out not many months later.
F3 and FNV were one big game. That's the secret to their success.

The types who hop on Steam forums and scream about woke usually are the types that are as sensitive and ridiculous as the people they claim to be “fighting back” against.

The only thing that I could identify as being “woke” in those first two episodes was Maximus’ fellow aspirant in episode one who appears to be a non-binary/gender fluid biological female who one of the BoS clerics specifically refers to as “they/them”.

That felt so out of place and was entirely unnecessary.

Beyond that, the more sensitive anti-woke brigade likely took issue with the following:

- the pre-war ghoul’s daughter being mixed race
- the main character Vault Dweller being a female who didn’t just curl up in a ball and cry when the Raider pulled out his knife
- Maximus being black or mixed race
- any white male character being portrayed as stupid, villainous, or incompetent
- any non-white or female characters having positions of power or authority
- the assumption that Ma June and the other old woman are a lesbian couple because they live in the same shack/store
- Lucy having any other reaction than “ew you’re not white, not interested” when she meets Maximus
- making fun of cousin ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
- dogmeat being a girl

Yes, but that aint how The Ghoul knows him, Have to watch the last episode for that.

It decanonizes New Vegas is what it does.
I don't get why all you people are sucking this show off so much. Writing is awful and it takes a massive ♥♥♥♥ on the established canon of fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas by reconning the formation of the NCR and decanonizing New Vegas by nuking the NCR. Not to mention completely missing the point of who started the MAD being intentionally ambiguous as a point as to how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ all the world powers were. And we of course can't have societies rebuilding so they nuked civilization again, including showing New Vegas itself getting nuked as an extra ♥♥♥♥ you to fans.

🤔
I'm on the episode 5 😁

Ive only watched the first episode.

Definitely feels like the producer of the show tried a bit to hard.

The people in vault 33 deserved what happened lmao. When ♥♥♥♥ went down most of them were incapable of doing anything other than watching. My interest was peaked when one of the raiders mentioned that vault 32 wasnt as innocent as they seemed. Im sure the two vaults being connected were some kinda vault tec experiment.

I wont even touch on the weird pc stuff, not on here, but it seems all us white guys are good for anymore are being villains, or useless npcs. Was going to watch the second episode on oxfords stream, but I couldnt keep my eyes open and had to go to bed.

I want to like maximus and the ghoul, but honestly one seems like hes on the verge of a psychotic breakdown, and the other is only interested in helping himself.

Only 8 minutes in and I'm already having mixed feelings. Mostly leaning towards negative. Seems the only thing they nailed was the old school music and clothes. Still a little early to give a real opinion so.
