I love playing Fallout 4, but did not watch the TV series with a judgmental attitude, comparing it that closely to the game. Not seen anything that was a turn off. So far. My wife has never played the game and has no interest in it, but she liked the episode we watched.
I was like wow and fall out of amazon prime and cancelled my subscription.
I've been very little disappointed so far. I didn't like the main actress, it seemed very forced to me that she was always smiling and being silly. I understand the idea, but I think they exaggerated a little. After all, they're going to have to change her attitude and increase her IQ by about 20 points for there to be any possibility of continuing the series... Another factor was the crude CGI and some rather silly and unnecessary fight scenes. E.g:. Maximus' fight. The cuts to moments of murder and brutality irritate me. But that's a cliché of this type of production... Other than that, all the other clichés... But overall it's a very fun and well-produced series. But you will enjoy it a lot if you know the Fallout universe but you are not a fanatic who will point out every mistake in the lore.
people wanting an epic 60-hour LOTR director's cut edition of their version of the Fallout universe are going to be sorely disappointed... but you can't please those types anyway, they're contrarians.
It wasn’t bad but I wasn’t wowed by it.
I’m not sure I agree with the various choices that were made in regards to how the episode was shot and edited.
The entire attack sequence in the Vault being played out in slow motion for something like 10 - 15 mins felt unnecessary. Slow mo can be really cool and a great effect when it’s used to emphasize a dramatic moment or highlight a particularly entertaining or impressive stunt or “kill”, but just shooting an entire lengthy sequence in slow motion wasn’t a good choice.
I too found the sound sorta weird. Very loud music and effects but soft dialogue, and there were a couple times when it seemed like there should’ve been various miscellaneous sound effects that just weren’t present (or were so soft I couldn’t hear them).
The end sequence with the ghoul was also WAY too dark. I had to turn my lights off in my living room just to be kinda able to see what was going on.
Beyond that, I think Lucy captures the whole “innocent/ignorant Vault girl” vibe pretty well and I’m interested to see how awkward and unusual she can be later on.
Maximus…did not make a good first impression.
You look at the guy and he gives off this Finn (Star Wars VII - IX) and Kang (Marvel) vibe but he lacks the charm, emotional sincerity, or intensity that those actors brought to their respective characters. He’s very…flat and wooden, and the sequence of events that occur in that first episode did nothing to make me either like the guy, sympathize with him, or want to know more about him or care about what happens to him.
I’m interested enough to keep watching it but I’m thus far not impressed with it.
There are plenty of unexpected shocks; the two main quests are intertwined nicely, and back in the vault is becoming intriguing too. My God yeah!
Ad Victoriam !!!! The BOS has won !!!!!!
but...Episode 3... buhahaha!! a brilliant turn around ;)
MUCH better than the first one in almost all respects. Makes me wonder if they shot the first episode as a pilot or if there was some abnormal length of time between when they shot that one and the rest.
I got a kick outta the nods to the game in this one: the automated turret that can’t hit ♥♥♥♥, Lucy trying to nicely talk to the wastelander while having her gun out and at the ready, Maximus having the same kinda childlike reaction we all do when first trying out the PA, the knight wanting to land, wander off, and go shoot stuff because he was bored on the way to their objective marker, the janky controls of the PA jetpack, Ma June grabbing Lucy’s Pip Boy to enter in the coordinates for her “quest”
Also got a laugh outta Titus’ comment about embarking on dangerous missions to recover coveted pre-war technology…like toaster ovens lol
Turret, brahmin, T-60, Brotherhood camp, vertibird, Yao guai. 👍
