*look around at threads please*.

The newest update broke Any Mod that uses F4se because it changed things from under F4SE.

The recent one today ALSO broke things.

MCM didn't get updated yet.

Also since you don't say what you're doing with it, you might want to be more specific.

Are you launching a fully modded game using F4SE?

Are you using settlement or other mods which REQUIRE MCM? If you don't have those properly installed of course you won't see anything with mcm, as they don't exist for it to utilize and show you.

Dont install it maunually. you need to use Vortex and yo0u need Script Extender for it as well, launching the game using the f4se_loader.exe

Ok, some context, i wanna use it to modify the mods [as the name suggests] and I don't download it with a mod downloader, i do it manually, and yes, i do open fallout 4 using F4SE_loader.exe. always have thus far as soona s I got it.
but alright, if it wants me to download it automatically, ill do that...

I always installed MCM manually and never ran into a problem while using Mod Organizer 2.
Have you paused the game and then gone into Settings to initialize it from there yet?
Demoham May 13, 2024 @ 11:51pm
"Go into settings"? You mean in MO2? cause I don't have that, and probably never will
Necron Monolith ₿ May 13, 2024 @ 11:56pm
No, not MO2. Did you press the escape key to pause mid-game? Just above where it says QuickSave you should see a selection that says 'Mod Config'. if it's correctly installed. I just installed the new beta version manually and it works fine for me.

You must download and use the latest version of Fallout 4 Script Extender (F4SE) for it to work (0.7.2):
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/42147

In addition, make sure to use Mod Configuration Menu 1.40 BETA 2 for game version 1.10.984 (next-gen update 2):

Don't expect modders to support older versions of the game.

I'm not. Though I've got a back-up of the game just in case. OP hasn't made mention of which version they're running anyhow.

MCM Booster is currently not working correctly with today's update of F4SE. Check on the Nexus page for MCM Booster in its posts. Also check other MCM specific posts on Nexus.

I`m using MCM on a newest game version without crashes.

After days turned into at least a week, I'd done search after search trying to muddle through this MCM debacle.
Poster after poster with the same question, HOW do you get this freegan thing to Work!?
I'm a gamer not a Modder. I've copied files, folders, and moved ♥♥♥♥ and followed instructions to the letter so I thought.
I found more people gave answers who Didn't have a clue what they were talking about, and others with nothing but Stupid comments and off-the-wall replies that had Nothing to do with the issue question... (frustrating.)
-
I went back to square 1 where a clean FO4 install, verification of F4se was running, and Finally... re-read the MCM files and versions description.

Mod Configuration Menu 1.39: Wouldn't work worth a crap. Uploaded Dec. 2019
Today I found Mod Configuration Menu 1.40 BETA 2, that was uploaded in May '24 and slick as dog crap on a tile floor.

My MCM issues are Over! Finally!!
