"You must name your character before proceeding"

Loading this back up after a few years and I'm stuck on the SPECIAL screen where you choose your initial stats. I allocate my points but when I try to proceed I get the error "You must name your character before proceeding". Problem is, there is nowhere on the screen I can do that. Going back only makes me reallocate my points, and I have to X out of the game to close it. Someone posted a reply mentioning the TAB key but that didn't help. Please help lol

Are you running the game in full screen or window borderless? test each out to see if you can get the game to recognize which window is up. Character naming is right above the special stat selection while talking to the vault tec salesman.

You should avoid alt tabbing while in game in full screen as you can lose your cursor and sometimes the resolution of the game will unsync from your monitor.

Do you have a screenshot? It's kind of hard to see the UI element, but it's there, it says "Name:" but it doesn't actually LOOK like a box where you can enter text, but it IS there.

At least... it SHOULD be there, hence why I asked for a screenshot. Clicking on it should let you enter a name.

You are using a widescreen monitor? There is a known issue with the next-gen patch that came out a little while back that makes the name section be off the screen. That issue was supposedly fixed in todays patch.
