Next gen patch only works on past gen hardware.
This is 100% incorrect. You can go to: https://github.com/NVIDIAGameWorks/FleX, download, build and see that it works fine on RTX cards, in both DX and CUDA variants.
This is an issue with the developer not updating from beta builds.
Again, no it is not the same. Weapon debris mod is just disabling COLLISION which is what is making the game crash. If you turn off Weapon Debris the particles don't even spawn the same way.
You can go to the weapon debris fix mod forum and see the author is working on a potential fix to allow collision this time. Apparently something changed with next-gen update on this regard.
And again, incredibly sad a modder need to fix an option Bethesda is currently providing making the game CRASH. It is a MAJOR issue and they are not taking care of it.
this is absolute cap, killing floor 2 still has the flex library and launches just fine on an rtx card. a plugin cannot just suddenly become unsupported unless the entire gpu software is rewritten or whatever
It's literally broken in KF2 too as well, because it is DISCONTINUED. In KF2 it breaks the same way Weapon Debris breaks in Fo4 with the 'fix mod' that still shows particles but the collision and flow of particles is broken. Meaning you can play but the FleX effect isn't actually working as it's supposed to work.
Hate that I have to explain this so many times because people can't understand that this is legacy tech that nobody is working on anymore.
There will NEVER be a proper fix for this tech for modern GPUs.
This is incorrect. If you repeat a lie even a thousand times, it will not make it true.
https://developer.nvidia.com/flex-example
Interesting to note is that it once also worked for AMD and Intel graphics.
You would need this first:
NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver 396.45 or above
AMD Radeon Software Version 16.9.1 or above
Intel® Graphics Version 15.33.43.4425 or above
But drivers this old and supporting NVFlex will lack support for newer cards, and vice versa.
Instead of beating down on Bethesda can one also tip one's hat to Bethesda for trying to use a new technology, which at the time was a novelty, but later got abandoned by the original makers. They took a chance on Nvidia, and Nvidia pulled out and allowed it to backfire.
Bethesda used a beta build from NVIDIA. Later on NVIDIA released a proper version that is universally supported. Bethesda did not update to it because they got lazy, and NVIDIA is to blame for this?
I suggest that Bethesda should update the Flex to the version that is on Github.
Obviously they should not fix it, and I highly doubt they even have the technical know-how to fix it.
Personally, I think its garbage, unneeded and useless fluff. I would of turned it off regardless.
Other people might want it. But I suggest checking out and deciding if its worth it.
