County Crossing missing building glitch in 2024.
Basically the title.
Barracks for the slaves disappeared on fast travel back to this location.
Nice to know this glitch is still present in 2024 lmao.
Edit: lots of wild assumptions in this thread but to clarify it was a shack building on elevated ground with some bunk beds and turrets on top that was missing objects like walls when returning to the location.
Slaves being referred to are the workers set to work the crops.
No mods relevant to settlements, only using F4SE high fps fix and some weapon/outfit mods, very light set up.
The fixation with settlement mods on a new play through with no such mods is moronic.
If you're going to fixate on this when it's already a non issue just don't comment.
The toxic behaviour in the replies is laughable.
Edit 2: what part of no settlement mods is proving difficult for people ? I really wanna know.

Bethesda patched that long ago. I hope they didn't break it. That makes the game unplayable again...I hope it's a mod problem instead. :(

"Barracks for the slaves" what?

If you built something using a mod, it's going to be broken. If you built something in a prior save and are using an old save on the new build of the game, it's broken.

Never heard of a whole building going missing. Not sure what you mean by either barracks (there aren't) or slaves (that's a you problem there buddy).

If you mean the army reserve area NEAR county crossing has issues, your mods are broken.

Game's broken because bethesda broke it. You can't even compare the current build TO anything prior to this because it WILL be broken anyway.

Like the person above me, I have literally no idea what you're referring to. Sounds like a mod problems, because county crossing has neither a barracks, nor slaves.

I will never understand why people think the year they have the bug in is relevant to anything. If it never got fixed, it never got fixed.

This seems to be a bug present in 2024 for OP that wasn't present in 2023. It's a non-bug that is peculiar to something in their setup. Like a broken mod. They probably don't even realize there was a major update two weeks ago.

Um no.

Meaning the bug did not exist earlier.

This implies the bug has always been there.

If the bug has always been there then what does the year matter?

That's exactly what I mean. It's not a real bug. They probably just assume it's always been there and is still there. But it likely appeared because of the update and something incompatible in their setup.

What mods are you using OP?

Have you removed any? (removing mods mid-playthrough is really bad - fyi)
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

No, guys, this was a glitch in vanilla over 5 years ago. On the south side of County Crossing, anything you build in the corner just past the southernmost telephone pole facing the destroyed reactor would DISAPPEAR completely on returning to the settlement - it's unknown if the items that disappeared were removed from the max build count. Bethesda patched that long ago. I hope they didn't break it. That makes the game unplayable again...I hope it's a mod problem instead. :(

You can't play the game because of this bug? Does it corrupt the save or something? CTD as soon as you enter County Crossing?

Nah game is buggy as hell.

Now im torn between adding the unofficial patch and adding a plugin to my save file, or trying to deal with the bugs.

Like trader rylee, I am steaming at bethesda after wasting several, several, hours trying to get her to work properly.

The best ive gotten so far is her staying in my settlement, but talking to her still offers the "do you want to work for me". Driving me nuts.

If it's broken in County Crossing, it's broken everywhere. There's no point in making settlements if they're just going to disappear. As I said, though, Bethesda patched it years ago. I'm hoping that if it's broke, it's a mod causing it.

So that may be a regression then. The problem wasn't explained very well. I don't think you can say it's broken everywhere though, if it was something specific to County Crossing.

That was just where it was happening most. I think I had it happen at the lighthouse settlement, too. It's been so long, I can't remember for sure.

Waste of a mod slot.

After the cannery just enable her and move her to you.
Make sure you have a level 3 store to trigger the ask her to work for you.

As for this "regression thing" what a load of brahminshit. I have never even heard of the "original problem." If stuff was disappearing from people settlements there would be DOZENS of topics complaining about it. Ten to one odds that the OP did something bad with mods and caused it.
