Nate and Nora's Last Names
Obviously there is no canon surnames for the two protagonists, but many guesses have been made. Id like to add some that i don't see being mentioned.

In one of the sanctuary houses, that belonged to a drug dealer, you can hack his terminal and find a list of his buyers. Under [Boston] you will find a last name; [Ward]. in this he describes a young married couple (possibly Nate and Nora) and how he is supplying "Day Tripper". From the Nukapedia page about the drug - "Due to the psychoactive effect, it was used to manage symptoms of PTSD, such as those suffered by Anchorage campaign veterans upon return to civilian life." Obviously this connects to Nate. Why would Nora use it? well think of its IRL counterparts, Zanax or Zoloft. I can buy that a lawyer would use it. Also why isn't the name under [Sanctuary hills]? Well, they simply could of been new to the neighborhood. This leads me to believe that Nates surname is Ward. "Ward...Ward never changes"

On Nate and Nora's refrigerator, there is a date marked on the colander; "Dinner with the Moyer's". This is less believable to be Nora's original surname, but lets say Nate wrote it. We know he was going to give a speech...maybe he was also gonna have dinner soon after or before the speech with Nora's family? Just food for thought...

Thank you! I was puzzled that nobody really mentioned it.

There are numerous military checkpoints in Boston. There are also derailed trains with Power Armor. The U.S. had invaded Canada for natural resources and had fought a war in Alaska.
There would have been a lot of veterans in the Boston area.

Dinner with the in-laws would more likely be written down as , 'dinner with Carol and Bob'
or 'mom and pop', if they were close. His parents would probably be known as 'mom and dad'.

But if Nate has PTSD because of the war, then he could get a prescription and not have to buy it illicitly.

Ok that's weird. I'm sure I made a repsonse here, but it's gone!?

Not this thread, but I had a response disappear in another thread. I figured it was just the NSA reading my post and noticed I said too much.

This makes sense, especially the Moyer part. I could go for a reach and say its a stronger dose? Or maybe they wanted a different drug and he recommended Day Tripper instead? But all in all, i assume it doesn't add up.

Interesting theory.

Nora needing Day Tripper could be chalked up to postpartum depression, as Shaun was born less than a year before game start.

Being whacked out on Day Tripper could also be why everything in the pre-war scene is so idyllic, colorful, and stereotypically 1950s “perfect family”.

Granted, I don’t actually think there’s any truth to it, but BGS is good at putting these “maybe, maybe not” type things into their games. These little, mostly missable “mysteries” where there’s enough evidence to go either way.

lol. But something weird did happen, maybe with your post in the other thread also. I know I made the post.

But you're right. I once was on another forum and its mods were even worse than the ones here. they would randomly edit anyone's posts just because they could. You didn't have to curse or be rude or anything- they'd alter it and if they got fixated on you, that was it! they didn't like if you sounded even slightly like a man, I realised. And you know me, I don't scare.

It was a cat forum which i went on cos I'd just taken a kitten into care. I wanted to learn how to look after cats. I seen some truly awful forums.

Sorry to derail this thread, let's return to normal business!

In my canon ending, it doesn't matter. I have the character run towards Concord instead of the Vault and the game ends. W! \:steamhappy:/

Worth the 6 minutes of playtime!

(The game essentially says, "That's not what happened," and places the character back at the point where it's said to run to the vault. I just discovered this and can't believe I never tried it before.)

It's a routine occurrence. I've had a jillion comments disappeared over the years. I've seen entire threads disappeared.
