Help an old guy out...
Okay so I run Fallout 4 with the A Storywealth mod collection and a few bonus odds and ends. Worked like a charm until (dramatic sting) the latest upgrade. I followed all kinds of instructions. I downloaded and manually placed files from depots to downgrade until my eyes bled. I removed all Creation Club files from my Data folder. I installed a downgrader mod from the Nexus. I read weapon debris was a thing and looked for it for a half hour before I read my Ryzen doesn't have the option. I tried disabling Workshop and Automatron DLC's and the same problem has persisted through all this -- I load the game, see the A Storywealth start screen for 1 to 10 seconds then CTD. Can anyone point me in the direction of a solution? It won't earn you a best friend or anything weird but I will say nice things about you to my friends, family and the internet.

Did u mix up different methods of downgrading?

Might be best to uninstall,
then reinstall,
then run a downgrader (that means no need to hand remove the new CCs)
Then reinstall your modlist, make sure autoloot is enabled

Most likely that your mods depend on F4SE. Try getting the latest F4SE. If that doesn't work it may be your mod author needs to update their mod to work with the new F4SE (this will be in only a small minority of cases).

His old mod list is IMO too large for everything to be udpated yet.
Until it is,it will be CTD city for him.

Best just to downgrade everything, to include to the "old" F4SE :steamhappy:

But only a very small number of F4SE-dependent mods will need updating by their mod authors. (Only those ones that use their own bespoke DLLs). For the vast majority of F4SE-dependent mods, they will 'just work' now F4SE has been updated. Provided the latest F4SE is downloaded and installed.
Downgrade and wait is also a valid strategy, I agree.
Thank you so much for the tips but only one SLIGHT problem... If I uninstall and reinstall fallout 4 then all my mods will get nuked. "well just redownload them" I hear you say and that looks great on paper until I reveal I'm a poor slob and don't have premium nexus. Short story long that's about 18 hours of downloading mods alone. I realize this is prolly what I'll haffa do but I still don't wanna cuz I'm a cranky old bastard and also very lazy.

What I did was to write down every mod i ever used and keep a track of the ones I'm using by checking them off as I look. That way if I ever have to lose all my mod list I have a backup copy written down to cover my ass.

As for the downloading issue that's on you. I also don't have premium nexus so I am in the same boat. I suck it up and get through it because I love the game enough to do it.
Also premium Nexus is not expensive.
Maybe get it just once and then cancel after 1 month when your DLs are done?

If u use Vortex it also has a function where you can make a notepad files with a list of all your mods

What mod organizer are you using?

Mod Organizer 2 uses a virtual directory system, so the mods aren't stored where your game files are. I can't imagine other mod organizers aren't similar.
