Vortex sucks
Every time i shut my pc down vortex logs me out and then I have to re-install every mod. Is there any way to fix this?

This does not sound right ... But there is also MO2, another mod manager.

Truth be told bud, aint much of reason to really use Vortex. It's fine, you can absolutely make it work, but Mod-Organizer is just better, at least to me. That being said, there is certainly some functionality Vortex has that I really wish Mod-Organizer has (I.E: Vortex tells you when it thinks a Mod is dirty, granted this isn't really a concern anymore as generally most Mods that come out these days that are "Dirty" are "Dirty" On purpose and it's not really a good idea to clean them yourself) But on the whole you don't really need Vortex. Their Mod Lists are maybe the exception here if you really don't wanna spend time looking things up, you can probably get the Modlists working through Mod-Organizer, but I would imagine it's all much more streamlined through Vortex.

That doesn't remotely sound correct. Even if you log out & in on Vortex, that shouldn't make you "re install" every mod. (and what do you mean by that - does it try to download everything? Does it do "Deploying" again?)

I used Vortex on my FO4 playthough last year. But I've never bothered to log in to it, I download & add my mods to it manually.

I'd used NMM for years before this, long past it's final updates. When I decided to use Vortex last year, I took a brief skim through some Vortex guides (Gopher's "Vortex Beginner Guide" series) on Youtube. It all seemed pretty straightforward, and didn't have any problems.

This sounds like your Vortex installation is broken. Are you running it as Adminstrator? Becuase it all sounds like it cannot create files, hence forgets logins and cannot manage mods properly.

Is Vortex multi-user? That is, does it regard you as a different user, a new user who has not set any mods yet? That still doesn't explain why, when you install the mods again as new user, it removes them all again. I think this is a task for feeding back to the Vortex people to sort out.

My browser has cookies set session only so I have to log in everytime I visit the nexusmods website, but I don't have to log in to Vortex everytime.

Something is messed up with your install. Maybe its a permission thing, check your game directory. Check your vortex settings make sense.

I have not seen anything like this happen before.

Are you using a vortex collection https://next.nexusmods.com/fallout4/collections or using your own modlist?
