Waiting for a Steam sale to buy a game is a ridiculous notion these days for (most) of older games, as they're on sale around the clock.

looks like late June, the Summer Sale 2024, will be your next option, historically speaking.
I just paid $40 American only a couple months ago on GOG for GOTY edition outside of a sale.
It pays to be patient. Wishlist interesting games and just monitor your wishlist for sales.
I am too impatient.
And considering how much I would spend at stripclubs if I wasnt a gamer, this is a very cheap vice
