quantity =/= quality
As games are art, objective is a very VERY difficult word.
But popularity is def. not an objective point in quality at all.
Or is justin bieber better music as Vivaldi?
Are the drawings of a blue square sold for millions nowadays objectivly better as van gogh who died very poor.
There are guitar gods our there probably 100 people know, but we all know Ed Sheran.
Nope. There was a full console generation change from New Vegas (2010) to Fallout 4 both playstation and xbox. Backwards compability is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, you could play New Vegas somewhen on PS4 emulated via battlepass if i remember right, but who searches and plays a game from 2010 when everyone is going fortnite. And playstation 4 had a huge gain of gamers with 40 million more sold units, same for xbox.
So you are actually twisting facts until they fit your argumentation. Sorry mate but i am gaming since mid 80s, i was there, every damned year to watch what was going on. And how the increase of gaming persons on each platform went....
youre wrong. Simple and sweet.
youre moving goalposts and trying to change the topic.
Fallout 4: 108,000
Fallout 76: 35,000
Fallout NV: 34,000
Fallout 3: 6,800
Starfield: 6,500 <--- whoa!
Fallout 2: 1,300
The DLC's make NV more enjoyable, preferably Lonesome Road, with Dead Money coming in second.
I enjoyed NV, but felt it was a rough and unpolished game.
It barely had any time to be polished.
the company was rushed to hell to finish it.
Even with a heap of mods to improve it - NV still looks like ♥♥♥♥, runs like ♥♥♥♥, controls like ♥♥♥♥, and is over-flowing with animation, combat, movement, and AI jank.
It’s fine to claim that NV has a superior setting, story, and better dialogue and quest design.
I’d even agree that if you entirely remade NV with the same engine and technology used to make FO4 - that it would be a better game than FO4.
But as it stands in 2024, FO4 is unquestionably a better game than NV due to its vastly improved graphics, controls, combat and exploration gameplay, and improved mechanics.
Here’s hoping that that Fallout 4 New Vegas mod gets completed and releases - then we all can enjoy the setting, story, and writing of NV with the graphics, combat, and controls of FO4.
And anyone saying fallout 4 is better is too caught up in modern times and are physically incapable of recognizing classics for the fun they have.
You complain about the bugs in new Vegas but you don’t call attention to any of the many bugs that still exist in fallout 4.
Fallout 4 is not a better game.
It’s just a more up to times game.
It has better graphics.
It has better combat.
But that is literally it.
Everything else took a step backwards in terms of how a fallout game is played.
