Power Armor Hoarding
Am I doing something wrong in my game? I have like 6 t-45, and about 4 T-51, and about 20 T-60 and about 15 X-01 and just this week, about 8 X-02 and about three Hellfires.
All armors in my display racks are fully upgraded to the highest level for that piece. My favs are tagetting helmet and jet pack torso. I have bought about ten frames because many of the pieces I get are partial sets. Hehehe. Now BOS keeps attacking me, so I get new sets of T-60 about every other day. I will soon fit out my entire Castle settlement as a Minuteman Metal Army. Let the BOS send their vertibirds. They do not stand a chance, even if I was the only one fighting them. I should post a couple screen shots of my museum.

I only keep leveled sets until advancing, then sell all the older versions. IMHO, two of everything leveled is more than enough (including 2 Power Frames). :)

I only keep one of each for display... but if I were you, I would start outfitting the companions in power armor and set them as guards in your settlements. They don't need fusion cores. The new weapons can still chew through power armor, but it will keep them going longer.

I do an intelligence build, because of the faster experience, and put the +4 INT on the armor (2 from Database and 2 from white paint) instead of targeting on the helmet. You level up really fast with a 14 INT, and then you can point up your other stats quickly anyway. If you use the "I'm S.P.E.C.I.A.L." comic to boost INT, then that can give you 15.

Companions are incapable of dying, even if assigned to settlement duties. If you don't respond to settlement attacks, PA for them isn't going to make any difference in the calculations of successful defense. If you do respond, that should make all the difference in the outcome anyway. :)

Hehehe... I just looked and they would not do the collection any justice. I am going to have to try to build a bigger, more rounded wall or several of them, like one for each class.

I have removed all BOS and Enclave paint schemes from my armor, as I do not wish to give any false impressions, or if that is even a thing. I do like the looks of the Enclave scheme on some of my weapons though. And I recently tried out an X-02 fitted out with Tesla harm. So now Mirelurk hatchlings and radroaches and many other critters including gouls get toasted just as they spawn or wake up and come near. Ants, bloodbugs, etc. all suffer harm and death when nearby. That guy I can grab a shot of in front of my Enclave units.

I created a Power Armor garage in Sanctuary near the river's edge. In concrete floor units, I think it was 13 long x 3 back, so it could hold 39 frames. I had at least 30 frames there with varying types of Armor (including the sets from the DLCs, like the Vim! promotional armor from Far Harbor). I never had to buy frames, but most of the frames I found didn't have a complete set of armor pieces.

Just remember to remove all fusion cores from the armor, and never leave cores in the workbench, or the settlers will jump in the armor to fight invaders.

I grab all PA pieces when I encounter them. I return to "the shop" and deposit the pieces for later repair and upgrade and incorporation into the collection, and then I grab a nice set of X-01 or even X-02 pieces, which I now have, and leave my main suit at my bedside and run to where the armor frame is at, fill it up with good stuff, drop in a core, and voila! I am indestructible... again. And my weapon is bad ass... Ping! goes the kings and queens and ping! ping! goes the ogres. From a huge distance. Deathclaws are almost always single shot now. Hidden, silenced, non-auto, I get about 8X or more on my hidden hits, and a use a double shot weapon. I drop entire crews of rust devils before they even have time to spread out. The other day I stumbled upon the airport and killed and gathered four BOS PA sets and a whole slew of BOS bad guys Hellbent on attacking me all the time. Big mistake. All nailed right at the gate with daddy balloon hovering close by. I ran after I gathered all the stuff up. I think I was 12k Lbs and my carry is 460. Short sprints only, but lots of things to scrap and sell and dole out to my settlers. I actually have a hard time getting anywhere near my actual number because I carry so many weapons. I have well over a hundred legendary weapons and near that many legendary apparel pieces. I have about 16 or 20 safes dedicated to storage sitting up on top of my Red Rocket fort. All of my magazines, etc. Including one for mods and one for junk like burnt mags, which I have hundreds of. I have hundreds of Nuka-World maps (well maybe a hundred). I have maybe ten Nuka squirt guns and collect about ten of the small bowling balls with each visit to the Nuka-World Arcade.
I collect everything... literally almost all of it. Most needed is oil and adhesive and Aluminum. I have tens of thousands of each ammo caliber, and buy almost everything from every shop keeper, and sell them things I have back until I get their caps too. I have about 127k caps right now, because I have been nice to a few of them.

I want to know how to get rounds for certain weapons. My number of rounds on hand count for a few is very low and some is zero. Like the Flakker. Where are those rounds? So, I now have a few hundred of the .44-70 rds. I have over a hundred converted Mini-Nukes into Nuka-Nukes and a 2X Nuka Nuke launcher. I collected thousands of cryo rounds and my freezer is one of my favorite guns because it is silent death and no way out. I know this rant drifted from the main topic a bit, but I love the game, sorry folks.

It is simply ridiculous and immersion breaking how many PAs are in the game. There is no way that 200 years after the bomb you couldn't throw a stone without hitting a free PA standing around somewhere.

I'd advise "Damn Apocalypse" to make Power Armor feel special.

There are a lot more power armors now than there used to be. I usually left the BoS alone, but the Enclave is actively hunting you, and you can pick up a suit of armor with each encounter. (Better than T-60, I think. Isn't Hellfire closer to X-01 armor?)

and ive added 4 more suits of Enclave to that.

Constantly hoping Atom Cats sell the last few pieces I need to complete my 3 X-01 suits

I use a mod that allows me to assign my settler guards ot my spare Power Armor.
Works great and gives the BoS a run for their money.
Especially as BoS Armors generally are only a or b and down to half their HP.
So even if they settlers have "only" T51. its actually vastly superior since its F and at full health

"Lore Based Power Armor Changes" is also a good option

In my first, full playthrough (400 hrs) I also collected every power armour, included unique ones from mods, several times over. I built a huge building in a settlement where I put every unique one, all with different skins and colour themes. It was pretty cool, doubt I can access it now though, can't even find my old save file after the minor (next gen) update.

I have bought a couple full suits from Atom Cats and there is a set outside in the yard, but I cannot remember what type it is. My X-02 collection is about the same as yours looks. I have three Hellfires and about 6 Enclave lootings. I cannot tell if my screenshot got loaded or not.

Its nice to run Brotherhood of Steel for the fact Tegan sells power armor frames like mad.

It helps with all those pieces you find out and about.
