fortune finder still "active" even though I removed it? (modded)
I'm running damn apocalypse (with its loot module) + BLD and its compatibility patch for DA's loot system

Early in the game I picked up fortune finder not knowing how often it stuffs containers with 20-50 caps each, I don't really like amassing hundreds of caps just for scavenging low-level dungeons so I removed the perk via the console.

The "perk" appears to be gone, it's not under the pipboy perk list and shows as 0 rank on the levelup menu,
but I'm still regularly finding fortune finder amounts of caps in office drawers/toolboxes/etc that are otherwise empty or only contain junk. This applies even for freshly loaded interiors well after removing the perk. I have level 2 scrounger as well, which works normally.

Is there a way to really disable this or am I just not understanding cell loot generation? is it a DA bug?

Good question and dilemma.

I think when you add the perk it changes the loot table. Then removing perk does exactly that, removes the perk from you, but it aint adjusting the loot table because you technically aint supposed to be able to remove the perk. Sounds like Bethesda short sights and shortcuts 101 to me.

Honestly throw the caps away on something expensive that you would not normally buy to offset it? Remove them with the console? Then chalk it up as a lesson learned I guess.

yup you were right, not sure about if the perk modifies the loot table in some other way but there's a global variable named "FortuneFinderPerkChance" that exists independently of the actual perk. I haven't tested looting anything yet, but I assume this works:

set "FortuneFinderPerkChance" to 100

100 is not a typo, this is the chance for fortune finder to NOT proc when generating loot, despite the name

Instead of an on/off switch they used a chance to proc, lol.

Now if you cna find a variable with a console command that means you can change a variable with another console command.

Try this list:

I has over 5000 console commands and papyrus function to use in console. I highly suggest using Control F to search, lol.
